if you have a 4k tv go pro, if not go slim. games wise we need to know what you like, however i would usualy say all uncharteds, the last of us would be good starters

battlefield 1 is killing it at the moment, campaign was amazing online is top notch, uncharted is a brilliant series, and fallout 4 isnt a bad way to start but it all depends what games your into.

Agreed.

Must-plays:
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt GotY Edition
The Last of Us: Remastered
Uncharted 4
INSIDE
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
The Witness

Beyond that, we need to know what sort of games generally interest you.

gta 5 has a bit of everything. a must have in my opinion

Agree depends on interests in genre. Ps4 has some nice indies, jrpgs and lesser mentioned exclusives. But for general Last of us & Uncharted are great, Ratchet and Clank is a brilliant platformer and Bloodborne if you're into Dark Soul type games.

there's not many more games as fun or entertaining to play with friends (or other online players) as rocket league imo

Amazing how so many of you bothered to respond in such a short time. Much appreciated!

Dont have a 4K TV just yet. Hoping that something along the lines of tesco 299 deal for 40 inch samsung tv comes along on boxing day. So will opt for pro.

As a kid, I mainly played NFS, SIMS, Age of empires and some action adventure games. Its been at least 10 years since I last took time to play :( Hoping to experiment and find out what I like now. Hence the plan to start with used games.

Thinking that I will probably order a bundle and trade in the new games for used ones.

I highly recommend NFS 2015. I have it on Ea access on xbox the game is great. I would also recommend Watch Dogs 2 since there is a lot of racing in that game not just car racing. And of course GTA 5 I would recommend to ANYBODY who is buying a next gen console.

gta v

the last of us ;P

Games I most enjoy/enjoyed :

Both Tomb Raiders
Rocket League
Mad Max
Everbody's Gone to the Rapture
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Ratchet and Clank
Valiant Hearts
Infamous First Light

A lot of those were free on PS Plus which will set you back £30-40 pa but to be honest the free monthly games have been poor of late

It's more than gaming too - I use it a lot for iPlayer/amazon prime (Netflix is there too) YouTube and Spotify etc. Handy if you don't have a Smart TV

Great bit of kit, I'm looking forward to getting a Pro too when I upgrade my TV

If you wanna see the technical limits pushed of the ps4, you have to try uncharted 4, however I am yet to play tomb raider and read that the graphics are great on that too.

You're new to the system - don't buy new release games, you've no need to; instead, explore the back-catalogue at budget prices. :)

Thanks. I am thinking i will just buy console with game bundle and trade in new game for used ones. Want to understand best place/tactic to trade/sell.

Okay, well you have three main options - eBay (bear in mind fees and postage), here (no fees, a little more risk) or GAME with a CeX+£1 price-match (no fees, generally lower values). You'll need to do a little research on how much you can get for each specific game with each option, and also consider how much effort you want to go to.

EBay sounds like a pain with the seller fees.

I am unclear about HUKD rules around selling games bought as a package. I have no credentials so unsure about how the exchange will take place. As there is no separate price, can I put them up for sale at a price slightly higher than CEX cash price?

I have seen that GAME used games prices are higher than CEX. Is it better to trade in for a CEX voucher to get more value? Unsure how much is fair value if i go to buy CEX vouchers here on HUKD?

Rohan

If you sell on eBay, you're looking at fees at about 14% of your gross selling price - it's hit-and-miss whether this is worthwhile; as above, you need to research on a case-by-case basis.

As for selling here, if you get the games as part of a retailer bundle, they're just standard copies, so there's no particular restriction on resale here. It's a little more nuanced if they're part of a console pack-in, but the FS/FT rules clarify: http://www.hotukdeals.com/for-sale-trade/updated-hotukdeals-for-sale-forum-rules-63512

Prohibited Trades. The following items must not be listed.
*Items without an rrp, e.g. games marked "promo only" or "not for resale". We will allow "not to be sold separately" bundled games

Personally, while I don't often sell to GAME or CeX, when I do it's usually for cash at CeX given that their selling prices are highly marked-up, but at GAME I'll take credit as they have a few offers from time to time. Credit of most kinds tends to have a resale value of about 80% of face value (a few places, such as Amazon, attract typically higher rates).

A great cheap game if you like multi player games is Destiny, just be aware you will need a PS+ subscription if you want to play online.

So having had a look at all the responses... I am going to get my hands on

1. Uncharted 4
2. Uncharted 1-3 (I assume this is same as Nathan drake collection)
3. The last of us
4. GTA 5

How does driveclub compare to GTA 5? - Just looked at the price difference and got my answer :)

Driveclub and GTA V are completely different types of game, not really directly comparable.

You've got some solid picks there. I'd still urge you to try to pick up The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and MGS V as well, though - you should be able to get the 'complete' versions of both games for less than £35 in total.

Also, don't overlook digital-only titles and keep an eye out for sales that Sony runs from time to time.

Great recommendations so far. Everything covered already I think.

I think most will agree Uncharted 2 is the best in the series.

I agree with one of the previous chaps who mentioned you'll have such a backlog there's no need to buy brand new titles as they'll drop in price by the time you get round to them

Uncharted 4 for instance. Should drop a bit in January when the sleuth of bundled copies get completed and go on sale

GTA 5 would be my overall recommendation. It has a bit of everything and does it well. Really cool online setup if your planning on getting ps plus (highly recommended with a new ps4)

My bundle comes with unchartered 4, last of us and drive club. Should i sell unchartered now and buy a few months later?

Will price for gta v fall in jan as well?

I also have fifa17. Is 25 gbp a fair asking price?
