I am looking for a new PSP battery and because of all the terrible reviews from the fakes, I'm going to get a genuine one.

None of the "mainstream" websites like Play and Amazon seem to sell them, and the cheapest on eBay was £11.85 (from the feedback it seems genuine, but you never know with eBay!).

Does anyone know any better deals, or whether gamestation/game/hmv etc. have them instore? Thanks.

Hi mate,

I have the same problem with you. I have all around and it is very difficult to find a genuine. There are some genuine from Taiwan around but still their life is almost as half as the original. Even Sony stores don't stock them. The only true place you can get real 100% genuine is by calling the Sony Helpline but it costs 30£ (incl. S&H). I know its a lot of money but that has been the only one to work for me so far.

Best of luck

Woah £30! That is ridiculous! I queried someone selling a "genuine" battery intended for the Taiwanese market and he said they often didn't work in PSP3000's - weird for a genuine battery.
And weird they only last half the amount of time.

I've managed to get an old PSP1000 battery off a friend so that will have to do (it's chunky but it holds 50% more charge). It's odd that they are pretty much non-existant here, but are easily available in the US and Canada!
