Hi, I just wanted to ask if you have any advice for me about the Caribbean. When its the best time to go there? Would you recommend a route? How much are the extra costs?

Thanks for any advice!

The summer we have, I'm risking staying here, then off to the Caribbean in November, Its still hot and sunshine in November, then snow in December. GOOD LUCK ANYWAY.
The best route depends on your time of year. We went during Easter and did a southern caribbean cruise starting in Puerto Rico and going to US Virgin Islands, St Kitts, Dominica, Barbados with Royal Caribbean and it was lovely.

If you want to visit more places go for a smaller ship as they stop at more ports, the larger ones cannot stop in all the ports due to size.

If you go in summer time then I believe a western caribbean cruise is better for weather, and remember the busiest times are on US holidays so if you want cheaper trips avoid things like spring break etc.
Thanks thats very helpful!
We went on a two week Caribbean cruise on the Thomson Destiny at the end of March and it was great. Weather just starting to turn a little in the 2nd week - still very nice, but a few showers building in the evening. Just heading towards the rainy season then I think, so if you want to be certain you might want to stay within March or earlier.

Lots of stops - 11 different islands and good food and entertainment on the ship. Not as formal as some of the other lines and cabins are a little small, but only for sleeping in anyway. Highly recommended and some great deals if you leave booking late. We booked 6 days before we sailed and paid about 40% of the brochure price.
