That's a notebook (rather than a laptop) with a 7" screen. If you want a notebook you'd probably be better off paying £20 extra and getting an Acer One from Amazon Notebooks are good buys but you don't get much hard drive space, no CD/DVD player, usually no Windows (the cheapest ones use Linux/Ubuntu) but they're much more portable. I'd say they're fine if you've got regular access to a desktop PC as well - not much good if it's going to be your only PC.

Laptops (i.e 12+" screens) start around £300. They'll probably go down a bit after Xmas as they got nearer £250 in November and seem to have crept up for the Xmas market.

If you need to buy now, look for either a Dual Core or (better) Core2Duo processor, at least 1MB RAM and a 120GB Hard Drive preferably from HP, Toshiba, Dell, Acer or other brand name and don't pay over £300. The Toshiba 15.4" Dual Core on Marshall Ward would be OK if you could get it for under £300!
