No. Only sports headphones (due to sweat) can be considered reasonable at that price.

Have a look on You tube if your lucky it might be a simple fix?

Depends on the type of music and volume levels.

over a year?

how often do they get used?

Turtle Beach have great customer service, if a little slow so do not expect a swift reply.

When I lost the mic for my Stealth 500x set they sent me out a new one, all they needed was the serial number around the earcup. Maybe best going straight to them and seeing what they say.

He uses them every day on xbox one went on chat to Turtle Beach but because they are over 12 months old they don't want to know

Contact the person you purchased them from, you're covered under the Consumer Rights Act.

For £30, used daily yes. It has cost about 8p per day.

In all fairness i would have to say that £30.00 on everyday usage, is a fair amount - you could compare to a pair of sports trainers ( not a high end brand but built for comfort etc) - if you were to have gone running everyday - and after a year they were bin fodder - would you still think taking them back to the shop acceptable?

What part of the headset is not working? have you figured it out? if it is something to do with the wiring - it could be where they have been moved around, twisted, plugged in and out over the year etc - it would be considered fair usage from that item.

If you bought a pen for £30 and it snapped after a year of writing would you be taking it back? It's about what is reasonable to expect from a pair of £30 headphones, not other items.

Gaming headphones do tend to be very flimsy in my experience and I'm not surprised they failed after a year. It does seem to be a 'problem' exclusive to gaming-branded kit though, normal headphones often last much better.

What was it that failed? If they didn't physically break I'd say you have a stronger case for taking it back.

they are in one piece I think it must be the wire as you can't hear any sound and the Mic doesn't work

Argos???
Good luck with that.
Know-all managers have a right attitude with any returns at store near me regardless of reasons.

emailed them they said I have to get an independent report starting that they weren't damaged through abuse. That would cost more than the headphones!

Write to your MP. I once had a similar issue with another high street retailer and I complained to my MP who got his office to follow up with the retailer and I got a prompt replacement.
