I'm looking to buy a new iPod dock for my parents to buy my son for christmas. Was thinking of one that is also an alarm & radio rather than just a speaker dock.

There are several around that price but I don't know what they actually sound like does anyone have one they would recommend or advise I steer clear of?

Hi, the first one is a Sony which isn't bad, I hv the second one which is Gear 4 Black Box.

U can pick both of them up for around £50, if u want to spend more then I suggest u look at the Logitech, if u can stretch to around £100 then there are some really good sounding ones on the market, JBL, etc.

Hi Argos sell them, they have a great one at half price

Word of caution, if it is definately an iPOD, make sure the dock that you buy is compaitible with the iPOD that your son has

I listed one a few days ago http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/543806/logitech-pure-fi-express-plus-ipod-

but like I say check it is compatible

Looks good, sure he would like that, what is the sound quality like on the Gear 4 Black Box?

It isn't Bose or JBL, but the sound is not bad on the Gear4 (go into a Curry's & get them to play something for you thru it). I use it to wake me in the morning using MP3 files on my Iphone which hv been sampled at 320kbps (almost digital quality) and the sound is brilliant! I don't know wot the Sony sounds like but I've heard that the Logitech has a good sound as well.
