Could anyone recommend me a good professional camera?

Ideally small but good for recording video's and for taking good food and landmark photos.

I have a canon 760d which was my first dslr. Fantastic quality can transfer via built in wifi to phone or even use phone as view finder. Takes some amazing shots.

What's your budget? :) I think budget will dictate your answer.. get a Nikon D7200 or if that seems pricey try and find a cheap 7100 :)

Haha! I've got a Samsung S7 it does a fantastic job, but just felt having a proper camera would be pretty cool to use when going aboard travelling.

Why do you want a professional camera if you are a first time user ?

I totally agree, I did the same , bought a nice camera for £400... never used it! (_;)

It sounds like you'd be better off with a superzoom compact camera like the Panasonic tz70. That has a much bigger zoom than a dslr camera, is far smaller and simpler to use.

I have a Nikon D5500. A brilliant camera for my purposes but the software to connect and communicate with smartphones is not as intuitive or functional as Canons.

I'm Nikon all the way! For that budget you'd be looking D3300 D3400 with a lens like this..

a D7100 with lens would be double that price range..

Pro cameras are GRANDS duke.. I think poster means 'DSLR' when poster says 'PRO camera' :) the reasons for wanting one are endless.. camera phones are great these days I love my iPhone but in comparison to DSLR it's like a pedal bike with stabilisers vs a flying carpet!

Might be a bit controversial but if you want to dip your toes, find a nikon d90 for £150! :) the D90 has easy to use semi pro controls although some may shudder at the thought of only having 12mp resolution. Don't be fooled. It's still amazing value for the money. Trade off is that video won't be great. For your budget there will have to be compromise.

Then get a decent telephoto lens like a sigma 17-50mm for £250. Some here might shout about prime lenses but if you are starting out it's worth having the flexibility and work out what kind of photographer you are before spending hundreds on primes.

The D7xxx series are great too. Proper manual controls that you will use unlike the buried controls of D3xxx and D5xxx series. But comes at a price.
