i would like some recommendations for some xbox 360 games.

ones which interest me the most are racing ones. Can't comment on any of them, although (not sure if its available) i loved test drive for pc.

also a recommendations for another game.

just looking for 2 games, 1 driving, 1 other.

If you could also perhaps include the best price you found for them.

At the moment, my considerations are:
gears of war £26 - http://www.101cd.com/101CD/Games_Pro...MES-MSGEARS-D0 (thanks brum)
forza
prey
project gotham 3 - £15 - http://www.powerplaydirect.com/asp/i...&site id=1065

edit:
ordered gears of war at £24 from blah.com using a £2 voucher (voucher can be found on hukd)

also ordered project gotham racing 3 @ thehut.com, using july10 for 10% off all items, which brought it down to £11.50 or something like that

FPS wise, Prey is good, very cheap as well.
#2
pgr3 ( project gotham racing 3) it is the only racing game you will need, dont worry about it being an older game, it is still by far the best racer on any format, an because it is 'old' it isnt going to cost you more than £15 brand spanking, or £8 on fleabay.

fps? well gears of war is an awesome game, call of duty 3 was very good as was rainbow 6 las vegas. i guess it depends on whether you want to just charge at people shooting or have a little bit of tactical awerness?

there are games like f.e.a.r whic are on several formats, i did like dead rising ( a zombie game. not a fps but almost with lots more fun involved.

games like forza 2 and coling mcrea dirt i havent played, i would go with the older ones first like pgr3, trust me on this one, you really will love the game and wopnt be spending a fortune on it, it is also awesome on xbox live.
#3
i've completed FEAR on pc, top top game imo, so any game similar to that. I used to play COD1, but i don't think i'll enjoy COD3 that much.
what is gears of war about? or forza?

(and an idiot question, how does xbox live work?)
#4
Gears Of War is a 3rd person shooter. You control a space marine type soldier who has a gun with a chainsaw attached, which is exactly as awesome as it sounds.

From Gamespot, these are the games with over 9.0/10:

Gears of War 9.6/10
Oblivion 9.6/10
Forza Motorsport 9.2/10
GRAW 9.2/10
Rainbow 6 Vegas 9.1/10
Perfect Dark Zero 9.0/10

If you had to get 4 games out of those 6 it'd be:

Gears of War
Oblvion
Forza Motorsport 2
Rainbow 6 Vegas [every1 prefers it to GRAW including me]

I hope I helped and I can reassure you that these games are the BEST whereas games such as PREY, FEAR etc are definitely superb, however, these 4 select games are just simply outstanding.

If you are intrested in these 4 games just let me know and I will link you to the best deals available online by editing this post.

http://www.101cd.com/101CD/Games_Product.aspx?productid=GAMES-MSGEARS-D0

pgr 3 is £14.99

thanks! probably ordering pgr 3 tomorrow.

im also guessing you have to pay for xbox live, so thats a big no-no, not going to be worth it for me. so if the game is awesome online but rubbish otherwise, then please do suggest it but do warn me if thats the case

your in luck, both games i suggested are fantastic in one player mode.

xbox live costs you between £35 and £20 ish depending on where you get it, you need broadband and you connect your xbox 360 through your modem. you create an account with hotmail/microsoft with a gamer user name and then log in to your saved games with this user name.

if you have just purchased an xbox360 , you get 1 month xbox live gold account for free so give it a go once you have purchased pgr3 as it isnt going to cost you anything as you get everything you need with your xbox360.

i would grab those 2 games and then dont buy any more for a while, i find that if i buy 2 or more games then i dont play a game properly and ignore them but i i buy 1 game i will play it and get value out of the game.

you will be playing pgr3 for months anyway and gears of war should keep you going for a couple months if you only play it for a couple hours at a time.

there is no point buying some of these ****** games when you can get the top games for the same sort of price.

call of duty 3 is also waaaaaaaaay better than call of duty on the pc, with a controller things are an aweful lot easier than contorting your fingers and hands to press 23 different buttons in quick succession to dodge a bullet. you may prefer rainbow 6 las vegas though, an awesome game but not as breath taking as gears of war.
#10
as you said, and as i thought, im going to take my time. i wont be playing more than 2-3hours a day max. going away for a month in august so wont be playing then, and after that its straight to uni, so wont be playing much then either, so in fact 2 games may be too much, but it gives me a choice really.

im tempted to simply get pgr3 in hmv in store as its listed as £18 on their website (impatience, dont want to wait a few days for delivery)
#11
i would check the 'instore price' as places like hmv and virgin have completely different prices for the web and the real life stores.
banned#12
Why not get Forza motorsport instead, is it because of the price?
#13
if i play forza i wont want to play gotham, or ill be less impressed by it.
if i play gotham, it'll be cheaper, by the time im bored with it etc i could play forza, which would then be cheaper (hopefully) and also impress me.

hmv won't sell it to me for £17.99 :x "internet prices are tax free"

well i ordered it from powerplaydirect.com, hopefully it'll arrive before the weekend, doubt it thought.

gears of war

&

Forza 2

no question about it

an alternate to GOW is: rainbow 6 vegas, F.E.A.R

How much did the publishers bribe Gamespot to award that score? :o
#16
what score would you personally give it?

These are the games i have, i will rate them out of 10
Now a 10 doeasn't mean its perfect but it means its my favourite

Gears of war - 10 (very very good)

Oblivion - 9 (a huge game, always bloody loading but it looks great and if you like rpg you'll love it)

Project gothom - 7 (Probably a 7 cos i'm not very good at it!)

Dead Rising - 9 (very fun and good for mindless entertainment)

Viva Pinata - 8 (very addictive, dont overlook because of it being cutesy)

Moto GP - 6 (too realistic, and i ride a bike!)

Tomb raider - 7 (worth the tenner you can get it for now)

Pefect dark - 5 (twas ok)

Command & Conquer - 8 (hard but good fun, not tested online yet)

Ghost recon - 7( Good game but once played it through once you've seen it all)

personally i think they are a load of old poo

that £40 could get you

call of duty 3 £17.99
rainbow 6 las vegas £17.99

both from play.com

these games will go back up in price where as those stearing wheels will come down in price.

at the moment you have picked the right time to incrase your xbox360 collection.

pgr 3 £11
cod 3 £18
rainbow 6 lv £18
gow £25

ok the last 3 are reasonably simular as in they are all shooty games but those 3 are THE best 3 you can get.

i would be deffo getting the 1st 3 out of those 4 asap before the price goes up, gow will probably come down to £20 as part of the classix range soon as gow 2 will be out just before xmas.
#23
well atm im trying to swap my bundle for one that includes COD3 as apposed to PES6, but my store is flooded so have to wait.

iv ordered both GOW and PGR3. (GOW at about £24)

i just fancy using a wheel to make racing games a better experience, but as you said they are a load of poo most of them.

i dont fancy buying any more games, not due to money, but due to lack of time
#24
i was looking forward to the release of forza as i am obsessed with cars. i bought it on release day and about 10days later... i was BORED as hell! if you are on a budget wait until september october time, there are some good releases due!

PGR4 is due sometime this winter according to the site I got this pic from

http://medialib.computerandvideogames.com/screens/screenshot_178338.jpg

I must say it looks good.. but Gran Turismo 5 coming out on ps3 soon is something else!

What does GRAW stand for? Also where is the cheapest place at the Mo' for Gears of War... I saw 25 quid above, anywhere beat that?
#26
I would get GRAW, you can pick it up for around 15 quid and the game is fantastic.
(GRAW) = (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter)

yes, i did beat it.

get it from blah, and use the voucher found in hukd to get £2 off £10 spend for new customers only (use new email if necessary, i did).

gets the game from £25 to £23.
+ quidco

wow at PGR4

Racing wheels - don't get the Madcatz. I had one and its like a toy. Go for the Logitech Drivefx (£45) or the official MS wheel (£80). If you are used to driving with a controller it will take a while to adjust to the wheel but if you are fairly new to the xbox and like driving games definitely get a wheel. I have the logitech one and for the price its excellent.....some rate it as good or better than the MS wheel.

Ps can't rate COD3 online highly enough....

i would just like to say i've played colin mcrea dirt, (rented it at blockbusters), and its amazing in terms of graphics and all. while i have only experienced two games, pgr3 and colin mcrea, out of 10 i would say pgr3 is 7, colin mcrea is 9....but then, iv only tried 2 games

I was in Blockbuster last night and they currently have a 2 for £40 on second hamd games, but Also they had Gears of War brand new for £24.99. They had two versions of it, both at the same price. One version had a fatter box and included an extra little book of artwork/storyline. Worth investing in for better trade in/ebay resale?

If they were the same price then yes, go for it.

Prey is 9.99 on Play.com, or 9.75 on thegamecollection.net but they are out of stock.

or leave it for someone who may want it, you won't make that much money from it...

No profit to be made, you can pick up the Collectors edtion of GOW for around £20 on eBay.

I wasn't impressed with Forza 2....
Just had guitar hero 2 delivered and is fantastic fun!
Ghost Recon 2 is also a great game to play.
#35
would just like to give me point of view of a few games that were recommended, so that other hukd users can benefit from this

colin mcrea : amazing graphics, really impressed and there are a lot of good maps and races. i rate it high

pgr 3: bit old to my liking, a bit too boring, i suppose its really a multiplayer kind of game. i don't rate it very high

GRAW: good! really liked it, most complex game i'v ever played, loads of weapons to use in different scenarios.
Bad point: very short game, took me 9 hours to complete, and its my first shooting game for console since goldeneye on n64, so i wasn't particularly good. haven't tried the multiplayer.

still, i rate it high. my advice for this one is rent it from blockbusters, you can keep it for 7 days, which allows you to complete it if you play an hour or two a day.
#36
I love PGR3, the best racing game on the 360 imo.
DiRT is very good too.
I'm not a fan of GRAW, too bloody hard for me and multiplayer sucks :(
#37
Gears Of War And DiRT i would personally recommend. But based on reviews Gears Of War And Forza Motorsport :)
