I know I can move apps from within Amazon GUI to USB but can't seem to find anyone talking about recording in Kodi.

Thanks

no you cant do it with a fire stick or with kodi

its not possible and also if possible in theory, highly illegal

Kodi by its very nature is illegal. You can record from Kodi on PCS etc. I use an old Apple TV 1 with hard drive. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible onto a connected USB

Kodi isn't illegal, it doesn't support or supply any content at all, it's just a media player. In fact they are quite vocal with their stance against these crappy addons.

Kodi is not illegal. If you think it is then you do not even know what kodi actually is.

Various third party software addons can be applied to kodi and their legality would need to be argued on an add on by add on basis.

Kodi itself actually actively tries to discourage piracy etc, as a company.

Exactly. Recording it is illegal.

"Is streaming pirate movies legal?

What the Court of Justice of the European Union says
Back in June 2014, there was a “landmark” case where a media service company (Meltwater) was sued by several media groups including the UK-based Newspaper Licensing Agency.
Essentially, the CJEU ruled against the NLA saying that viewing copyrighted content online is not copyright infringement. It all boils down to the fact that the copyrighted information is stored only temporarily on the user’s computer, and temporary copies are exempt from copyright laws.
That’s big news, since it has implications beyond simple web pages, which is what the case was all about.
Since then, the CJEU was asked to clarify whether these existing EU copyright exemptions also apply to viewing and streaming videos online. The court said that streaming videos is different to making a copy, so is also exempt from copyright laws.
Of course, the owners and operators of the streaming services which make this copyright protected content available are breaking the law and can be prosecuted, but as a viewer and streamer you are not breaking any European law."

By far the majority of Kodi users stream pirated material. I do know what it is. I have on my phone on which I am typing this. As well as a Fire Stick ..
Blah blah blah. Why do people have to so offensive? Make assumptions based on zero knowledge and lower intelligence

To clarify I know recording on a fire stick is not possible but with a Fire TV recording is possible. There are addons (legal) that will allow you to record. However what I wanted to know is if you can record when in Kodi. Has anyone actually tried it?

I tried with amazon fire tv box. I failed. I got sky back lol. Recording premium channels now 100% legal for me until my deal runs out.

Interesting post. So does that mean if I get an open box that comes with a gift I am not breaking the law by viewing premium channels that I would normally have to pay for.

I don't find that to be true in the slightest. Almost all the movies I watch are great quality HD.
