Just ask if you can escalate this to a supervisor/manager, the staff tend to be limited with the guidelines they have.

I normally complain directly to their facebook account, as even their FB team seems to have more authority - but not sure about this company.

What was the free gift though?

If the watch was faulty then I would think you would be entitled to a refund, not just a credit note.

yes...they gave you the free gift for spending £100 unless you spend over £100 without the watch

Hi thx for ur comments so far allbeit faulty i only wanted a credit note(115£) not a refund so my GF could choose another watch in her own time. The free gift was a smart watch.

I think you should of been able to keep the free gift as they gave you a credit note so you have still technically spent over £100 with them

^^This^^

Because it's a credit note not a refund you should still be entitled to the free gift because you will still spend the money with Argos

If it was cash refund then it would be different.

You should return the free gift. If not you could wait for another "spend £100 and get x" offer and rinse & repeat to continually get free gifts.

BTW, I'm not saying that you would do that just that there are some that would.

well how would that work u would have loads of credit notes aswell I would happily do business with u if I had a company and say I offered some gift with 100 spend. u would still have to spend that money in my store and that way I would have your money and u would have risk of me going bump or credit note expiring or getting lost so win win for me. but if I gave u cashback then I would want the gift backaswell
