I bought a mouse from Currys last week (online) and its too small for my hands so I've requsted to send it back as unwanted. I called them up and they arranged collection for the next day (which is today)... only problem is they haven't given me any address details or RMA number etc, the bloke on the phone told me I don't need one. So basically just wanted to check if this is indeed normal because I've never returned anything without an RMA number before and dont want it to be delayed or anything. The plain box I received the mouse in just has my address label and the return address in the corner.

It'll be fine the courier picking it up will have all the necessary paper and will place it in their bag/packaging

As above, entirely normal. They simply send the courier the details and they turn up with the stuff to pack it and slap a label on it. The courier then normally takes your signature to say they picked it up and leaves you with a receipt/tracking details.

Alright cheers for the responses guys!

As above, although I wasn't sure they offered free returns? Are they not going to charge you for the courier?

Especially as it sounds as though the packaging has been opened ?

That's not a problem, providing its in the original condition. It would only be an issue if they purchased in-store, which open items cannot be returned.

But how can it be in original condition though if the seal has been broken and the package opened ? - It can't be resold again as 'new' ?

They will reseal the box and sell as new anyhow. These are the exact words, I just worded it incorrectly but its fine:

"They must include all original packaging, be in ‘as new’ condition and must not have been used, installed or had any data input on them."

They will resell as opened item on their Ebay site.

I asked the dude on the phone where I return it to and he just said they will arrange collection instead, there were no mentions of costs.
