So my current tv gets a lot of revurb.. when there's a low bass type noise, it's quite annoying. (More than I would think!) it was a cheap tv. So I'm looking for a new one.. however, what do I need to look for to avoid this? (I know nothing about tv's) is there a spec related to TVs I need to look out for that improves sound quality.
Sorry, I hope that makes sense!

If your TV has an earphone socket or similar, you could probably obtain some external speakers / soundbar for not a lot of outlay. This would immediately solve your current TVs sound issue, and possibly be suitable for any TVs you buy in future.

Yeah. Internal speakers are naff on most flat screen tvs. Get a soundbar or any external speaker as suggested. Seen places like cash converters sell surround sound systems from £25. Most TV broadcasts are stereo so no need to use back speakers with the wire running around problems. I'm guessing a cheap soundbar will sort you out though.

Hadn't even considered that as an option! Sound bar it is! Definitely much cheaper. Will have a google. Thank you both very much!

Soundbar. Even a cheap £30 is far better than the tinny internal speakers

Thank you. I was just looking online and found some for about that price but wondered if they'd be any good. So even in expensive TVs is this a problem? Or is it just a cheap tv problem?

Even an expensive TV problem really, my (was expensive at the time) lg TV is the worst for it.

The problem is the thinner technology allows TV's to become the less room there will be for speakers. As has already been said many TV's (even expensive ones) are let down by their speakers. Sound bar is a good option or a sound base which you stand your TV on - try HyperFi for some reasonable deals and look under 'soundbars'.

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that. I will have a look on that site. Glad I asked instead of eventually buying a new tv and finding the same problem!
