So my Samsung TV which I purchased from Richer Sounds a few years ago has developed some dark/black patches going along the bottom of the screen.

It's quite irritating so I'll need to claim under warranty.

My question is - when they take it away, do Richer Sounds provide a temporary TV? Or is there an option to get a temporary TV while it's gone for repair?

I purchased a tv from richer sounds with a 5 year warranty and asked that very question.
I was told I'd be given a tv on loan if it has to be sent off for repair.

I did just that lol. They offer loan units but you have to pay a deposit of £200.

Unless your tv is still worth £1000 plus I very much doubt that they will repair. our LG went last month and they came to assess it (after I phoned customer services), said the unit couldn't be replaced (one pixel line faulty), and offered us the equivalent or equal cash price to what it would be worth now. just got a 55uh770v for £285!
Their warranty is fantastic and no quibble whatsoever. I did have to take the TV back to the store however. 8)

Hi mate, so you called customer service and they sent someone to your house to assess it? Or did you take it into store for them to assess it?

No they'll come out to you, take the model and serial number. then you won't hear anything for two weeks whilst they order the new screen. then you ring them to find out they've registered it as an exchange with your local store! that's what happened to us anyway ;)
