Probably time to reinstall Windows.

I've never found any version of Windows that works properly for more than a year or so. Eventually, they've all started playing up and the only way to fix them has been to back everything you need up and do a clean reinstall.

Have you tried turning it off and on again then installing Linux.

or install classicshell (classicshell.net), it's free, and brings back the win xp / 7 menu. Problem solved ?

Win+X does the same thing. If this does work then maybe your mouse is faulty. If it doesn't work then maybe your registry is screwed You can also try checking for Malware I suppose.

bring up your touchpad control & then disable it press save & then press start & save.

Just had the exact same problem with my dell but it also effected my pad about an hour ago.

worth a try.

Only problem with Windows is people not knowing how to use it.

Had Windows PCs for over 20 yrs and never had a virus despite being single for about 10 of those years!

Have to agree if you know how to actually use Windows then it can run very well for a very long time, but I have been using Windows since 3.11 and I have to admit that trojans and viruses are getting very tricky at detecting now.. I have been caught out once or twice..

The funny thing about viruses is your PC can have them without you knowing about it.
