I will get it at launch for sure. Wii U might have been a flop sales wise but it has some of the best games this gen. That's what matters to me in the end.

The Wii U is my favourite console since the good old glory days of Sega and Nintendo. I've owned all the PS consoles and the 360 but find i hardly touched them. I'll be buying a switch :D

I'll be picking one up day one, as Tireeq said above, Nintendo do some of the best and most enjoyable games, and thats what it's all about, games used to be an escape from real life and now they are trying to mimic real life, keep it old school Nintendo.

Day one buy for me. The only thing I'm scared of is it selling out and being hard to find after release (like the Wii). Looking forward to preorders going live after the reveal in January

yeah i will be getting one, sold my wii u for money reasons about a year ago, and have really missed it, was going to re-purchase it, but then i saw the switch announcement, so a no brainer to go for that, mario kart 8 with PROPER battle modes, and truly portable :)

All depends on the launch games for me. If it launches with Zelda and running noticeably better than the Wii U version i'll get it.

I don't really care about the concept and would probably never use it out the house.

i think it looks really cool with the handheld function but a day one buy depends whether they announce a pokemon game or not (_;)
#8
I will definitely.

They announced they are going to have a digital GameCube library!

Yeah I'll be getting a Pre order in as soon as packages are released. I don't think there's any chance of this flopping, it's going to be huge - providing they've got a good selection of launch titles. Have you seen the latest video clip of it?
Jimmy Fallon got to play Zelda on one...

I will definitely.

OOO! Nice!
#12
I will, i took the plunge and pre-ordered mine from game
#13
I wont! It looks like another gimmicky console, underpowered with a vast catalogue of 'sequel' titles.
#14
Day 1 for me.
#15
Maybe. All they need to do is announce that their porting Bayonetta 2 and that becomes a solid yes.

The rumours are its more powerful than an Xbox One with a 1080p screen which sounds awesome for a handheld. Battery life probably will be around 3 hours I guess played as a portable. I think if Pokémon and other popular titles end up on the system it could be indeed a success. Will it kill the poor 3DS off?
#17
Is a new Mario kart likely to be available on release?
#18
I think I will be a day one purchase. Ideally I'd love a Zelda BOTW bundle at launch. A sensible price point is essential given how cheap the PS4 slim and Xbone S have been on sale.
#19
Nintendo consoles have always been smaller targeted markets ever since the GameCube.
It all depends on the launch titles and the cost of the games.

The portable ability all depends on the battery life and how well the games actually play on it.
Dreamcast tried it and look what happened, Sega hasn't made a console since.
#20
I'll be buying at launch. Is anyone aware of the price yet?
#21
Depends on the price but will probably be getting one at launch, Wouldn't suprise me if the same people calling it a gimmick are already buying into VR X)
#22
I will, definitely as long as I can afford it! I haven't been so excited for something game related for years!
#23
Looks promising so far. :D

Impossible, it's powered by an arm tegra cpu. Same found in smart phones. Obviously unique and more power but do not count on anything as powerful as the xbone unless the dock provides a boost to performance.

It will be underpowered and It will lack third party support.

Its a underpowered console and a cumbersome handheld. Technology has moved to remote gaming. The ps4 can already stream to a smart phone..

Only time will tell I guess how powerful it will be. I hope the rumours are true. Allegedly the console is able to run Dark Souls at a reasonable speed which shows it has some power.
#26
Buying a Nintendo console for gpu power is dumb anyway. The Tegra x1 though is a powerful chip and people underestimate mobile chips, this is also supposed to have a new chip, possibly Tegra X2 which if Nvidia has applied what they learnt making the 10 series cards will be very good. One of the back compatible GTA games was ported from mobile to console. Look at the quality of games available on tablets today programmed to run on many tablets and realise they are using old chips. Its good that Nintendo are willing to try different chips rather than sticking religiously to AMD based chips. Honestly they don't get the credit they deserve even, for the Wii U's chip and chipset.

I'm seriously considering it, but it depends on the list of games available at launch expanding.
#28
I love my Wii U and have really enjoyed all the games I have on it. I have spent many more hours on the Wii U than my PS4. If the price/bundle deal is right, I'd definitely consider buying it at launch. :)

As long as long as the price is reasonable! I genuinely love the idea of the hybrid system. I don't always get access to the TV!
