So I received my note 7 on the 30th August through an upgraded contract with Vodafone, and thoroughly enjoyed using it for the rest of the week. Then obviously the recall happened. I was initially told to contact Vodafone, and once I finally got through I was told to contact Samsung as they would be handling replacements. After 50 minutes in a queue with Samsung I was told as it was a contract with Vodafone it's them who are handling it. So once again I call Vodafone only to be told again they weren't replacing any phones and only Samsung would be doing it. I call Samsung back and wait another hour, only to be told the same again, but after perseverance I finally get them to agree to a replacement. They took down my details and said they'd replace within three weeks and be in touch within one. I have not heard back from them since and the online correspondence now states that I will have to go back to Vodafone for my replacement. So I got in touch today and they knew nothing about it. I don't suppose anyone on here is facing a similar problem with Vodafone or any other network? Any help or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

Glad it's not just me! It really is an almighty cock-up! It's such a shame as well because I really do love the phone! I imagine it will push a lot of people away from the replacement option and towards the switching for another phone option due to lack of time to continuously call each company! Very frustrating! I don't know if you have had this problem also but with Vodafone it seems to be a company wide thing, I have been in store, on the phone and online chat several times and not one person I have spoken to has a clue what's going on!

Samsung will begin exchanging from the 19th of this month.

Luckily I bought from Samsung and they will arrange a courier to drop off a new unit and pick up this beast.

I too would like to know this as its been a week and still no call or missed call from Samsung! (But that could be as I received from Vodafone, but still a response would be nice!)

No, I rang them again yesterday and they said someone would be in contact after the 19th of this month.

Seems long to wait, especially as the USA have been told to not use the phone, get a loan phone until the note 7nis re released, and they get a 25 dollar gift card

I've not got a Note 7,so only ask this out of curiosity, but on a contract are you expected to go with NO phone at all while your Notes are away? No loan phone and do they freeze your contract or are you potentially paying for a service you cannot use as you have no phone??

Yeah I called earlier and was told the same thing!

I think it is ridiculously long to wait! Yeah I know and we are left chasing the companies for an expected time frame! Doesn't seem fair really!

Well I'm not really sure! I know in the US the providers have given consumers a loan handset whilst they wait for the replacement note 7. But it seems like the UK providers aren't really bothered or concerned at all! Personally I am still using mine, purely because due to upgrading I no longer have my old phone. Plus I've been checking the temperature etc of the phone whilst charging (I know I won't really know until it explodes) but it doesn't get hot at all. Regarding the payments for the contract, after a lengthy chat with Vodafone they said I wouldn't pay anything from the 1st until the date I receive my replacement, but we shall see if that is actually the case or not!

It's seems amazingly unfair that not only are you left in the position of potentially having no phone, but you're also having to chase the companies involved, no doubt you'll be running up a phone and time bill which will never be refunded. I really hope you get sorted Guys and as quickly and as easily as possible.

All the best,

Rich
