Sound & Vision £395

John Lewis will pricematch S&V for a free 5 year warranty

DigitalDirect £385

Thank you, how would I go about getting the price match?

Email or telephone the John Lewis nearest to S&V (Bluewater i think???) and ask them to pricematch the S&V price. They will do all the work by phoning S&V and checking the tv is on display with a clear price tag on it at that price (they are fussy about that). Then when they send you the pricematch code phone your nearest JLewis and tell them you would like to collect the tv from them instead of bluewater. They will ask for the code or contact Bluewater and the rest is up to you to collect.

Ive done this twice now with my local Southampton branch on a match with Empire Direct. Bluewater are much better at matching than the Southampton branch were - Southampton were a bit picky. Oh and if S&V doesnt have them on display try EmpireDirect who always have them out if they are in stock. Id sooner pay the extra £10 from ED or S&V just to get the 5 year warranty pricematch.

Thank you very much for your help :D:D

There is an S&V near me, in Bolton. Would my John Lewis price match with them?
#6
yeh sure... but the tv must be on display with a price tag stating the price. Oh and no special offers either. Just some of the criteria they check for to try and get out of it ;-)

Thank you once agin!

No probs... id recommend this to anyone if they can get JL to match. Ive seen some pretty wayoutthere prices for extended warrantys from some companies. If you can get JL to budge use it to your advantage :-D

I'd go for the Samsung R88 - orderd one the other day from Pixmania - very good TV

I personally would avoid pixmania like the plague. Very bad reports on them, especially if anything goes wrong with the unit. Returns have to be sent to France if i think im correct ?

Just one instance dated Aug 2007:

Pixmania Returns

Like the blog says, just google pixmania and youll see a whole host of bad reports. I think if the product works be happy with them, if not you can expect a host of problems with the returns side of things. Just the general view of many people... but ive never used them to comment ;-)

PS... Oh and in my experience i would go straight to Samsung anyway. I have an american side-by-side fridge freezer by Samsung and their warranty support has been excellent the past 3 times its broken down. 3 times i hear you say... yes a design fault, but ive had a new fridge freezer out of it and several modifications fitted to the new one. Yes its been a pain in the a** but give Samsung credit, they have been on top of it each time within a matter of days. Im now 3.5 years into the sale - covered by the 6 year trading standards law.
