Hello, I've decided to take advantage of the JohnLewis black friday deals on televisions but not sure which one would be better.
SAMSUNG: http://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-ue46f6500-led-hd-1080p-3d-smart-tv-46-with-freeview-freesat-hd-voice-control-and-2x-3d-glasses/p431667
LG: http://www.johnlewis.com/lg-42la740v-led-hd-1080p-3d-smart-tv-42-with-freeview-hd-and-4x-3d-glasses/p751126

Both are £600 - LG black friday saving of £200 and the Samsung of £50

Could someone help me out.
Thanks!

Out of those two the LG is much better in my opinion and I just bought the LG today so I'm hoping it is too. I saw them both in store at John Lewis and thought the LG looked much better on SD, HD and 3D. The LG is also 800 mci which is basically 200hz and Samsung is 400cmr which is 100hz so the LG is double the hertz. I also much preferred the passive 3D to the active 3D as the glasses felt nicer and I can't be bothered with having to remember to keep recharging my glasses for the active 3d. The Smart functions were as good as each other. On the Samsung the Voice control is really annoying you have to talk really loudly and slowly at the TV for it to understand so I couldn't be bothered to take a TV home which I need to shout at.

Both are quite good TV's but I ended up getting the LG 42LA740V. If you haven't bought either yet I think they're both out of stock now so unlucky.

There is the Samsung UE40F6740 still in stock: http://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-ue40f6740-led-hd-1080p-3d-smart-tv-40-with-freeview-freesat-hd-and-voice-control-with-2x-3d-glasses/p437555.
I saw this TV too it was slightly better then the f6500 you wanted so if you want a TV you can still get this one. Voice control was much better too but still annoying. 600hz cmr was pretty good but still not good enough for the LG. If you don't mind Active 3d then this TV is actually pretty decent.
