Am looking for a sat nav for a friend of mine. He just wants something simple with UK maps but must have speed camera alerts.

Does anyone know of any good deals about for the above?

I'd get this and then follow online instructions to install tomtom software (it's free)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159765 you can pay extra and get it in widescreen (it's about another tenner)

This also looks ok if you also want europe mapping

Is it easy to install tomtom software and does tomtom software give speed camera alerts? I was looking at this one earlier.

Yes too both, if you read the reviews several people give instructions on how to do it...

But to give you the quick overview, you basically connect to the PC, unzip the download file form the site in the reviews, detect the satnav with the software and select update, it takes about ten to fifteen minutes and then is a tomtom... I don't have one but a couple of friends do and they said it was really easy
