Alright Folks,

I'm looking for a satellite Navigation system for a christmas present. Something they can use to carry around as well as mounting in the car.

I don't really know much about updating maps, etc, so a few pointers required!!

Thanks

Get yourself the navman f20, ill post a picture of me holding it to get a rough size.
Its got the very latest maps and all you need is a view of the sky to get a sat signal

I've just been checking out all the best deals and posting them in the deals section.

What's your price range?

Hi, Tesco's currently have a Sat Nav for 149.95. You can find it on line. It looks quite good but I don't know an awful lot about them. Also ASDA are selling one instore for 99.00 but I couldn't say what make it is.

If you fancy the F20 pictured above, it's currently cheapest at currys for £143.99 using codes BPSAT656220 and TENEMAIL and prfreedel.

Alternatively you could go for the TomTom One for £161.95 in this thread.

Hi I use a Mio p550 with tomtom.

I have had no problems with reception even under tree cover. Its also small enough to fit in your shirt pocket.

You could also go the whole hog and buy one of these, but mapping software would be extra. :)

Hi everyone,

The BPSAT656220 code doesn't seem to be working for me, it just says it's not applicable with the product i've selected :(

Also my father wants a cheap tomtom as well but he's willing to spend extra if the additional features are worth it, which one would you suggest or should he wait for the january sales or a newer model?

The BPSAT656220 code is working fine, I just tested it. It only works on that one I've linked to, and make sure you don't copy and paste a space at the end.

Road Angel navigator - with built in speed camera warnings.

£169.36 excl vat (free delivery)

You will need to check the walk around function on some of these as many are designed as road nav system like the i3, and therefore will tend to snap to the nearest road and have no terain info
