Hi all, I'm looking to purchase a SatNav unit - gave up on the idea of hooking up my PDA.

Any suggestions as to what I should be looking at? I need European mapping - detailed for Belgium, France and Spain at least.

I'm willing to spend up to about £250 for the right unit, although any savings are much appreciated :)

Many thanks, Dio

If standard tomtom doesn't work on it tomtom mobile should. Easy enough to "aquire" it too.

I've been looking at the TomTom Europe XL for £250 - anyone any experience?

I gave up on the PDA option because I have replaced my XDA Exec with a HTC S710 and don't much want to go back :)

I am thinking of selling my navman N40i (can use pics to navigate too ) Has European discs and the Traffic module which was £55 on its own -still got 9 months warranty on that and 6 months on Navman - only used it once -all boxed as new with cds.
Looking at around £240 posted - if interested can post pics to you -never been able to post them on here myself -always had to ask for help !

Not sure if its worth a mention but the TomTom GO 520 & 720 are due to be released soon. My advice hold off for the new versions with the new editable maps or hold off and take advantage of the price drops on the current range
