Searching for a Powerful Modem Router to cover 2 houses

Hey guys, first post on this site - been lurking for ages though ><'

This is my situation:
I own 2 semi-detached houses, one is my own, and the house next door - I rent out rooms. Ive promised to provide a wireless internet connection to the tennants - but currently they are using the signal from my SKY Broadband - routing through a Draytek VG Router.

It has served its purpose- but honestly - I am searching for something better, IE stronger signal perhaps??
Tbh - I'm not concerned about the tennants - I havnt recieved many complaints - Im more concerned about my own connection :P

I have invested in some ORANGE (belkin?) homeplugs which suffice for the PS3
but for the upstairs desktop where I like to download alot of content .. I feel I am lacking in speed.

I was considering wiring it up, under the floorboards... through the walls etc - but that is simply tooo much effort.

so what should I do?
invest in homplugs/router?
what??

Go for an N1 router. I have a belkin N1 and its really powerful but they probably do a better one now as mine is 2 years old good luck

hmmmm... im looking for something with exterior ariels tbh.
My draytek has two exterior - signal is fairly acceptable - don't know how Id manage with interior ariels... something I need to consider aswell.

If anyone has anything to add, with experience in such a situation - Id really appreciate it!

it has 2 external and more internal, it is also N1, also look at the gadget show website and they show you how to boost your signal with tinfoil, sounds daft but really works!!

mmmm yes ive tried it before.
but im attempting to cover the whole house next door.
ive found that the tinfoil satelites only direct the signal in one certain direction, (eg - upstairs front rooms)
