Second Router for DD-WRT (For VPN)?

Afternoon,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm currently with SKY using their standard router. I'm wanting to leave that in place to serve most of the devices in my house (iPad Phones SKY catchup services) I am then hoping to connect a second 'dumb' router to the first to use as a VPN router (using an american IP), for connecting my laptop and Ouya (Laptop wireless Ouya wired)

I then have the option to switch between two locations (plus the added security benefits) by simply changing my wireless network

Has anyone got something like this set up, and secondly could you recommend a secondary router to use as a VPN access point. I'm not looking for anything too fancy so woudl something like this do (appears on the supported devices) http://www.ebuyer.com/482524-asus-rt-n10e-n150-eco-series-wireless-router-rt-n10e?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products&gclid=CLm9saXcxL8CFRHHtAodcGMARA

Edit: Also I assume i dont need a router with a modem as my first router will actually do all the work

Thanks for any help!

Depending what you want to do you might not need the router at all. Can you clarify what exactly you're looking to access? Is it things like netflix and some gaming related things?

A mix of things really, Some for added security / anonymity, some for Netflix / location based services.

After looking I don't think that router I mentioned will be great. I could just set up the VPN On the individual devices but like the idea of having one 'hub' to do this for me

Depending on what you need on each device you can go as far as making a simple batch script in place of your web browsers one to load it up in the relevant location. I used to do this when I subscribed to netflix and for accessing US content from home. Much easier as it took about 2 seconds longer to make all the changes and load the browser and had no cost.

Hola Unblocker is also a good alternative for the major browsers.

Thanks for the reply :). the main use out of it will be my Ouya, which i can install the PIA app but im concerned it may 'cut out' (the android system may kill it whilst xbmc or something else is running) I have just found this on Argos, http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1383908.htm which apparently supports dd wrt.

Not sure if its worth giving that a go its only £12.99
