Evening All,
I've got a upvc back door that opens inward, unfortunately it has only got a handle on the inside and closing the door behind me when I go out into the garden is near impossible as there is nothing on the outside frame to hold on to. I thought that if I drilled one hole on the outside frame and used a small metal self tapping door knob then I could solve the problem. Unfortunately I cannot find any on eBay and wondered if any kind soul could look for me and post a link or point me in the right direction to buy one.
P.s I've googled self tapping handle but haven't felt brave enough to google self screwing knob.
Thanks in advance.

Why not use a standard type knob that will have screw holes in the base and use self tapping screws.

Just take measurements of the inside handle and drill through and fit a matching set https://www.amazon.co.uk/uPVC-Door-Handles-Lever-White/dp/B00IIL9JJQ/ref=sr_1_20?s=diy&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1492109748&sr=1-20&keywords=upvc+door+handles (just an example).

Didn't really want to see screw heads,
Surely there must be such a product as a self tapping door knob?

Why dont you just drill through and fit a metal upvc handle on the outside. They screw into each other from the inside with 2 long bolts would be stronger and look better.

That 70kg suction handle might be a bit overkill.
The door is brown upvc, so ideally something to match and aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Just thought a small round metal handle would do the job in less than two minutes.

Alternatively a super strength self adhesive one where you pull the backing off perhaps?

Why not just get a small handle and use self tapping screws to secure it to the door. Don't worry about a proper handle, just a small discreet one like on drawers or wardrobes.

if you go out into the garden and shut the door, how do you get back in again?

In that case you can find ones with escutcheon plate that hides the screws or simply use epoxy and glue on the one you like.

You could also epoxy the head of a self tapping crew to the knob, you might need to drill a slightly larger hole in the knob just so the head of the screw sits inside, then you will have your idea.
