You weren't scammed on Ebay were you?
#2
I hope you didn't ebay a mobile phone, and are now sending it to the winner *chuckle*

Hmm, no idea - I'd guess royal mail normal service though for the cheapest.
#3
nigeria, by any chance?
#4
we're an untrusting bunch.

Maybe it's a cousin
#5
lol i was thinking the same as everyone else. Ebay scam?

Royal Mail no longer cover mobiles sent Airsure or Int Signed for.
#7
Come on OP, put us out of our misery. Who bought it & from where ?

Payperdrop used to be good, I know some people had problems with them.... but on price they were the cheapest.

You could use agents that use couriers like DHL.... for international deliveries to Africa though, you'll probably be spending quite a lot.

Although like already mentioned, for a mobile phone (small package) - Royal Mail / Parcel Force should give you the best price.

There's no problem in sending a parcel to Nigeria....however it's extremely likely that they'll pay you using stolen bank/card details and the money will then be taken back out of your account...

Do you have the money?
I wouldn't touch nigeria with YOUR bargepole (which isn't saying much as you're already going there) .. but seriously - just re-list it and all that stuff.....

When you relist it remember to put "will ship to UK only" on the listing!

If you're worried about offending the Nigerian, just write them a note along the lines of:

"I'm very sorry, but when I came to post the phone I found that my postal service will no longer insure mobile phones that are sent to Nigeria. In the event of an accident I wouldn't want you to have wasted your money, and it is therefore with deep regret that I feel obliged to relist my phone with shipping to the UK only. I apologise for this mix up, and look forward to dealing with you in the future."

This is a common scam mostly used on small electronics such as mobiles.
Don't send it.
Just relist.
Good job you come to us first!!!

At least they haven't posted you a cheque for £6,000 asking you to forward them the change (because they trust you)
#18
No offence, but these "Nigerians" don't understand "will not post outside UK".
Wouldn't even bother emailing them.
Just relist.

Still, if the OP is nice about it, they may be asked to help retrieve his great grandfather's $8356,000,004 that was left to him during those old colonial wars - but was recently found buried under his porch

There is no money in my account...I realised now this is a SCAM...Thank you everyone for their replies
#25
Lol Nigeria and phones,I'm glad I never had 1 to sell,I'd bount to have had a 'buyer' from there.
#26
I posted an ad offering a laptop on vivastreet.I got 3 replies from West Africans in just four days. All were asking me to send it to their cousin/brother in West Africa(Nigeria) offering payments through paypal.

Ad of a phone on gumtree had similar response ;).I am just wondering whether anyone sucessfully made a deal with Nigerians via Internet. Do not get me wrong, I know decent black people and it is not about being rasist but dealing with Nigerians on Internet is very risky. It's almost a certainity that someone will want to scam you.
#27
since when is nigeria in east africa? the question was about sending a parcel to East africa ffs. dont deride the whole continent because few nigerians commit online scams.
