Hi

I am with Eon and they used to have a great reward where you have points that can be exchanged for Tesco vouchers. I loved this because when Tesco dies the clubcard boost event I get tickets for free.

Now Eon stopped this scheme "Our rewards scheme has ended: If you were on a fixed price tariff that offered Rewards on 31 March 2017, we'll give you all your remaining points you would have earned up until your end date by 28 April 2017."

So I want to change my provider, however, I tried the uSwitch but there are no better offers for me

I want to change to a provider that is good and offers good rewards.

Thanks in advance

Were you aware, Tesco finished their Clubcard Boosts? They are no more. I too am with E-on and appreciated the "Rewards" scheme so was disappointed to see it go. However, I did get told by their tele-sales person that they were working on a new rewards scheme. Haven't seen or heard anything yet though...

I am on a fixed tariff with them which I managed to get in before the price hike so we'll see what they come up with down the road. Whilst they wouldn't tell me directly, I got the distinct feeling it was Tesco that pulled the plug on "Rewards" and not E-on. Can't explain why but it was how the conversation went. I guess we'll never know.

They only stopped the instore double up boost events. You can still exchange for up to 4x face value with Tesco partners

BTW I am on Fixed 1 year V20
Gas unit rate is 12.76, standing charge: 15p / day
Electricity 3.609, standing charge: 20p / day
Do you think I am paying too much?

I was on that deal with EON. Was gutted when it went up so much. I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything to match that deal, it really was cheap. I ended up with British Gas, somewhere I never thought I would go to them but they were actually the cheapest plus I get free energy between 9-5 on a Saturday. I do all my washing and drying, ironing, kids have early showers and now weathers getting better the lawn mowing will be done on a Saturday too. Got a smart meter and seeing the hourly cost at 0 when all these appliances are running is such a happy feeling.

Hi nanyasolom. As aau1 kindly pointed out, you can still get offers via Tesco partners but the Clubcard "boosts" ended. As to your energy tariff, it's hard to say as it's all worked out locally. When I did my hunting around, I found the savings were so minimal and the feedback for some of the cheaper, independent suppliers so awful that I decided upon staying with E-on. Better the devil you know 'n' all...

My tariff for interest purposes (bearing in mind I'm on E7):
E-on Energy Fixed 1yr V21
Day - 16.422p
Night - 7.119p
Standing charge per day - 16.422p

They were a bit crafty really as the day rate hadn't changed much from my last fix but the cheaper E7 rate (surprise, surprise) has gone up by quite a lot.

As an alternative to the comparison websites and uSwitch, have you considered signing up to moneysavingexpert.com's Cheap Energy Club? It doesn't cost anything and it regularly keeps you up-to-date on whether there is a cheaper tariff out there for you. Link below:

Take a look - you've nothing to lose. Good luck!

Best regards, Phsy.

BG estimate it will be 11% of your weekly usage for its average user.
It's subject to "Reasonable usage" but the two examples are both using it for commercial usage.
What they might say if you change your two Tesla's and a couple of Tesla power walls I'm not sure. But if you are paying for 60kw for 6 days and taking 200kw on a Sat for free they might get upset.

I will compare again for sure, shall I use the actual rates before vat when comparing, or after vat or shall I use the TCR (Tariff Comparison Rate)?

Too much to digest for my feeble abilities!!

Not sure what you mean but I just use my usage statistics when filling in the boxes for comparing. When you use the MSE CEC it ask you what tariff you are currently on. It then knows the provider and rates you are paying. Then input your usage statistics (which can usually be found on your E-on bill) or you can do it using how much money you spend every month/year and let it do its thing.

I know I'm probably telling you what you already know so, sorry!

depends how many units u use if it's less than about 15kwh in that space of time it's not worth it as there standing charge is more vs cheaper tarriff. if u manage to fit in say 25kwh+ usage in that time it seems a better deal the more u are able to use in that time then better but if ur able do stuff like that then maybe economy 7 would work out cheaper for u.

another tip compare gas and electricity as separate supplies then u can see the cheapest as for many years know duel fuel hasn't been cheapest for quite a few people I checked but at moment the gaps not too much.

I don't know yet as not had a bill but I have the washer and the dryer going virtually all day long. A short shower costs around 20p each so thats 60p saved with 3 kids. I reckon its between £6-8 a week, more when I start mowing the grass etc at the same time. I am just guessing according to what the smart meter says. I am a slave to the appliances now on a Saturday but I don't really mind as making a fairly big saving.
