Anyone using Krypton? Is it ready to use? Nothing wrong with the version I'm using as far as I'm concerned, but I was just curious. Read More

Really no point in upgrading yet if there is nothing wrong with what you use.

The upgrade path for Kodi is a shambles so why bother if you are happy ?

I won't be changing for a very long time.

Big no. 17 is still a beta so still getting tested. Whats wrong with 16.1? Pulse build installed on it and your sorted

I'm running 17, never had a problem, everything works perfectly. I find it a bit easier to navigate on PC (that might just be the change of skin!)

My fire stick is running an older version, I've got no intention of upgrading that, mostly because of the extra faff in doing so. They both 'sync' with each other fine.

Cheers guys. I'll stick with what I've got for now then.

Probably a bias feed to ask but for the same price what's better firestick or chromecast? Really just be used for BBC and channel 4 TBH

Fire stick, u only need one device, rather than the two you'd need to run the Chromecast, and it has a dedicated remote.

I bought an extra fire stick for upstairs, and I have a Chromecast gathering dust in a drawer somewhere.

I looked at the chromecast but found the firestick to be a better solution. it is more flexible. I take mine for use in hotels when away.

with a chromecast it sits there on the tv and gets sent from a smartfone a program. with a firestick it sits on the TV and functions on it's own to give your TV a program from the internet.

so I have a network drive containing films and my firestick via wifi can play one of those films on my TV !. it can also via amazon prime download off amazon video a lot of TV programs and films too. a lot of those are free but recent films do cost. iplayer etc etc are easy to use too.
