Looking at either:

Tamron 70-300 or

Sigma 70-300 either satndard ro APO

I have found a good website for prices:

http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk

Anybody advise me on which lens to go for as well?

Cheers

Check reviews on photo.net in terms of which to go for.

They will probably slag both of them off and say they are soft and slow - but you never know lol.

For my money I have always found tamron to be superior to sigma - and i believe their compatibility to have been better historically - suggesting that if you move to a new body in the future that the likelyhood of the tamron working is high, whilst the sigma may be debatable.

If you are willing to go second hand (I reccomend this - it will be mint and cheaper, probably by a lot) you could try

go for Sigma 70-300 APO (if you don't believe me, google it and see), excellent value for money.

Onestop-digital sells this for £120 delivered from hongkong, if you get caught in customs, you can claim back VAT from them.
