Hi Guys

I am looking to buy a ring form Ernest jones/H samuel for my wife on our wedding anniversary.

The only I could think of getting a discount is through buying a signet card on ebay for a bit less value and then using that card in store or online if can to get the quidco cash back.

Could anyone help me please I am just worried would it be safe to buy a signet card on ebay where seller has received it due to incurance claim.
If it is safe and buy it would I be able to use it on Ernest Jones/Leslie Davies website so I can get quidco cash back which is 14%& 12.5% respectively.
I would appreciate any comments. Thanks

What's the item number? Is it a reputable seller?

He has got over 200 feedback score and only asking for paypal payment. Wouldn't it be covered by paypal buyer protection and as i will be using my credit card to pay on paypal that will give extra cover in case anything is wrong.

Your not covered by the Buyer Protection as its a gift card: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/buyer-protection.html.

"Exclusions from eBay Buyer Protection

eBay Buyer Protection doesn’t cover services and certain categories of goods, false, abusive or illegitimate cases, or purchases where you have been or may be compensated by another third party. The following purchases are excluded:

-anything that’s equivalent to cash (including retail gift cards)"

Thank you for your reply. Checked the ebay and paypal buyer protection and they don't cover gift cards. I am not sure to complete the transaction or just leave it.

Check if they have been selling anything else with a high value, if its all low value items & buying I'd avoid just incase as its alot of money.

The seller has been registered with ebay since 2002. I have asked him to send me his address and landline telephone number.
I am surprised how people are buying signet cards on ebay. Do they know its not covered under ebay buyer protection. I mean there is one card for sale with the value of over 4K on it and bidders have bid upto £3200. Its a lot to risk.

Probs not what your looking for but if its for diamonds why not just go direct, hubby bought my diamond online from isreal, sent them a pic of the setting i want and they made it for me, cost half the price of the uk, we had it within a week of ordering, had it valued back home and its worth a good deal more than we paid

You would be better off going to somewhere like the Jewellery qtr in birmingham and haggling, Thats where I went for the engagement ring, and platinum wedding bands. Apprantly I will need to go again for an eternity ring at some point.
