Since getting Sky + my magic eye in the bedroom doesn't work

I don't know if anyone can help, but since having the sky updated to sky plus my magic eye in the bedroom doesn't work anymore. I can still receive a picture by going downstairs and changing the channel, but my remote won't change the channel nor will the new remote if I take that upstairs. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Any ideas please???

Are you using a sky+ remote?
#2
Yes, downstairs but not in the bedroom. I have tried the one from downstairs, but it doesn't seem to work.

Have you tried turning power off to Sky+ box and turning it back on - sometines helps when my one upstairs stops working.
does your eye upstairs have the red light on?
#4
No, Maybe it's just stopped working at the same time as the sky+ was installed. I will try switching it off and then on again Thanks

Have you still got the old remote?
You can make it work the sky+ box as follows -

1) Press TV button
2) Hold down select and yellow together until LED blinks twice.
3) Press 1
4) Press select

N.B. To revert to a SKY remote press 0 in step 3

obviously cant work to record n stuff but good for volume and turning over channel upstairs

Hope you get it sorted...

Hi I have tried to check the RF Outlet and I press Services the 4, but I don't have 0 where do I go from here. I am sure I have done this previously but can't seem to find it now.

Plug the magic eye straight into the 9V RF output at the back, elminating your cables. If you change channel and the eye flashes it's your wiring. I had this problem took me 2 magic eyes to realise. The RF thing's that plug into the TV/Sky box. One had came slightly loose and would transmit the TV images but would not give the Magic eye the 9v it needed.

Do it as in the previous post, there is no 0 option, it's just the shortcut for the sky installers menu. You need to enable the power to the 9v RF. It's off by default.

Hi Many thanks for your help. I still can't find the RF on/off. I'm sure I found it once before I pressed services, the 4 and where to I go from here please. Anyway I am goint to try plugging the magic eye in directly later and will post reply.

Press services then press 4 then press 0 then press 1 then press select then press 4 (RF Outlets) then make sure RF outlet power supply is on. Some on the button presses will appear to do nothing. Until you get to the sky installer menu.

Checked it and it was on. I thought I was going mad not being able to find it. My magic eye still doesn't work so I think that maybe when the engineer came to install the sky+ he damaged the wire as the pulled it quite hard to try and get it through the wall!!! I am going to take it up with sky and see what they say now.

Cheers

I have the same problem, my magic eye just stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I have since bought 2 others and they to do not work. I have tested them on a friends SKY+ and they work fine so it is not a problem with the eyes.

I have seen lots of posts on digital spy from people with the same problem, it appears that there was probably some kind of upgrade done to our sky boxes that has stopped the sky eyes working for a few of us.
