As i understand there are three main ways to do this:

Option 1

A One-off payment of £175 which includes dish + cables + Sky box + white viewing card + installation. See here: http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/

Option 2

As above but contact various local satellite dealers and ask for a quote for dish + cables + Sky box + installation. You get only the BBC 1 London, BBC 2 England and the ITV 1 Central regions and No channel 5.

As an extra you can buy a white viewing card for £20 + one phone call to an 0845 number (about 5 minutes). This will set the correct BBC and ITV regions and give you Channel 5. See http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/faqs-freesat.aspx#q3 (answer to question "I already have Sky digital satellite equipment - what else do I need?")

Option 3

Go here: http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=installation.Main and click on "I don't have a satellite dish". dish". You need to call an 0845 number to get a site survey and installation quote. The quote will depend on your address and where you want the dish and could vary between £80 and £250. You'll then need to buy one of the FreeSat boxes shown on that web page, prices start at £30.

Sky dishes are a doddle to fit , you will need a drill to drill 4 holes in a wall and a cheap meter to find the sat at 28.2* . Two dishes are available ..........zone 1 @ 43cms ..............zone 2 @63cms . Get the bigger dish , less likely to get a bad signal in bad weather .I got given a S/H sky box . I bought a Z2 dish , LNB , already had the cable on a roll and fitted the dish to the side of the house . Got in touch with sky and ordered a FTV card from them for £19.57. When it arrived I rang them up to get it activated [ they match the card with the box & activate]. All is well but , be advised , you dont get all the channels you would get with Freeview , but you get a few extra ones not on Freeview.
Lots of second sky boxes on fleecebay , I once sold a good one a few years ago and got £6 for it .

which channels do you lost if you use FTV compared to freeview?
