Hi,

I am after getting multiroom in the house, but when i was on the sky website last night its £49 for your first HD box only, then £199 plus installion of £30 for each additional box. We already have HD downstairs, so would have to pay £229 just to get another box installed. So was wondering if any one knew of a cheaper way or any offers on multiroom at the minute?

Thanks

I'm in the same boat. We've got HD downstairs and we're looking for multiroom too. Let me know what you find:thumbsup:

Me too.
It annoys me that HD is £10 a month more, let alone having to fork out so much more for an additional box.

By the way, is multi room HD £10 or £20 per month extra?

Nah all multiroom subs are £9.75 per month extra, regardless if u get HD or not. Its jus the price of the box that differs

I've got a Xbox 360 too and I've been reading into this. It's not all as clear as it seems. From what I can make out, anyone who has a Sky package can get the Sky Player through the Xbox. But that doesn't mean that you can watch the package you subscribe to. The only way you can watch the full package you've got with Sky is if you've got Multiroom or the Sky Max Broadband aswell. This really p*****d me off. Even though I've got the Full Sport package and pay an extra £10 for my HD, I can't watch the Sport package through the Sky Player because I haven't got Multiroom or Sky Broadband. So in other words is if you've got Multiroom or Sky Broadband Max you can watch everything you subscribe to through the Sky Player ( Xbox 360 or online ) if you don't have Multiroom or Sky Broadband you can only watch a hand full of programmes.

Ok that would be a massive disapointment if true, not much info on sky site except below, very unclear if extra charges apply if you already have sky and sports package for example, for a product launching in a few days there isnt much confirmed info.

"To watch Sky Player on your Xbox 360 you need an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription. Live TV channels depend on your subscription. Price and availability of on-demand content depends on whether you are a Sky TV/Sky Player TV customer and the kind of subscription you have. Some programmes from live Sky TV channels are unavailable to show online (see skyplayer.sky.com). Your subscription will renew automatically unless you tell us otherwise. Minimum 2Mb broadband connection recommended. PC with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista or Intel based Mac required for Sky Player on your computer. Information only applies to residential customers in the UK, ROI, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Further terms apply".

Everyone with a Gold subscription and any sort of Sky package will be able to use the Sky Player via the Xbox 360. But only a small selection of channels. It's only if you have multiroom aswell do you get to watch the premium channels ( Sky Sports, Movies etc )

Just to update people who are thinking of getting Multiroom. I was really looking forward to the Sky Player via the Xbox. I liked the idea of being able to watch all of my Sky Sports channels live. But unless you subscribe to Multiroom you could only get to watch the programmes that have already been shown and not actual live footage (ie Football etc ) I also have HD so I phoned Sky to ask why I couldn't watch these channels live even though I pay an extra £10 a month for HD. The bloke from Sky said I needed to have Multiroom as well. I told him I wanted to cancel HD and have multiroom instead. That way at least I'd have two sets of full channels in my house. He came back and said I could have multiroom for £2.05 (80% off) Anyway, I've download the Sky Player on my Xbox and now I can watch all my Sport live through the 360 or my laptop.

try get hold of a cheap HD box, off ebay etc. Tell sky you have a box already and you just need the viewing card, they will pair the card upto your box.

As long as you have the cables already in place then its easy, if not, then pay someone to run extra cable for you.

True, but your pretty screwed if the box goes tits up...which in my experience with HD is common!
