I have just bought a new flat, it has an inbuilt arial for the building.

Am I right in thinking that I can just move my sky plus box, plug it in and after phoning shky it will just work?

I really want sky in my room as well, however I don't want to run the cable for my magic eye along the length of the hall. There is what looks like a phone point in the room...can this be used in anyway to get sky? If so what would I need to buy and where from!

Help please...I'm so rubbish at this sort of suff!!

You will need a sky dish fitted to your wall outside.
Cable ran from that to your sky box.

Sky is satellite TV. You need a satellite dish to receive it. If you building has an aerial, the will allow you to receive digital freeview, not sky.

From what I've been told there is deffo sky (its a repossesion property, however sky have told me there was sky in the property before)... the cable running from the roof through the building...I'm most worried about not having sky in my room. Could the 'phone' point in the bedroom be used to get it?

Yeh as the phone line also carries satellite signals.

As has been said, you can only get Sky from a cable that has been run directly from the Sky dish to the Sky box.

You cannot get it down your phone line, or your TV aerial, or from the electricity supply, or from the gas mains.

I should have made it clear. I have no knowledge of buildings with digital cable run internally through the building. The reason I put the word 'phone' in inverted commas was because I am unsure if it actually is a point for a phone (there are three such points in the living room).
Thanks for your 'help', I am aware that you can't get sky through the gas mains etc. I'm dyslexic and I often read thing incorrectly.
