Generally I believe you can move and keep discount but only for the remaining time, so if you have 3 months of discount left but resign a 12m Q agreement then you end up 3 months discounted and 9 months not

i have about 18 months left they gave me a 5 year discount at 60%

If it's the box it might be best to just buy a cheap one off eBay.

I'm getting sky q next week I have managed to keep my discount until November. Although I'm in a 12 month contract with sky q I can still negotiate a deal in November , paid £100 to get it q2 box and a mini box

Yeah they told me that as well... don't see why they would renegotiate thou as you are still in contract so if you threaten to leave you have to pay an early termination fee AND return the box(s) as they belong to sky

I am upgrading to Q this week, install on Wednesday. I was on a 60% discount with HD + box and multiroom. Was out of contract so gave 30 days notice.
Was eventually offered upgrade to Q, free 2TB box, free mini box (multiroom), only a 12 month contract and 50% dicount off all the package. I pushed for a credit as well, but there was no way.
That is the best I could obtain. I went to Carphone Warehouse and was looking for the package for £30, was going to put in partners name, but offer was not available any more.

Had sky Q for a year now and personally if I wasn't getting a good offer I wouldn't bother with it. Clunky and buggy system with out any real benefits over a Sky+HD account.

Sky Q is great for us but if you want to keep on with Sky HD I would probably swap out the HDD as these degrade over time and cause the issues you're experiencing.
