Hey bargain hunters. I just got a leaflet through the post from Sky, it was suggesting that my current deal was coming to an end (half price everything) but if I wanted to remain they would extend the offer for the next year. No haggling, no stress etc. Do any you see any negatives here. Do I refuse, do I get on the phone and haggle some more or do I for the first time chill and enjoy the savings.

Does that not mean they will hold you under contract then for another year?

Yes, this piece of string is long enough.

Hi there I think u can haggle some more as I have sky broadband and I had a problem with my wifi on Friday when I rang them the lady mentioned that they have a deal on I think she said 60-70% off all the tv packages and that it ends this week, my advice is give them a call and say your unsure about staying and if they can offer you a better deal then then one u already have you will stay with them but the lady said it's a 18 months contract now it 12 months,

I suppose the main question is whether you're happy with the deal you currently have. Not everyone gets the same deal through haggling (depends sometimes on the agent you get). So if you like your deal and it works for you then just stick with it.

I'm on my second year with sky. Internet only. First year no problems, but since
January I've not had full connection for more than a week before problems. Net dropping etc. I've had two sky guys & two BT guys & it's down again since Saturday
BT guy coming again on wends. But I've told them if this is not sorted once and for all on Wednesday I'm leaving them or will say if they want me to stay with them. I want fibre on my price or I'll leave. Cause I've not had full connection for more than a week since January :(

I left Sky in Dec and after three months they offered me a 75% discount to return! All my previous recordings became watchable again too. If you can stare them out it definitely works!

sounds like a good deal to me.

Go for gold, 75% is the target. Cancel, play the game and wait for them to call you offering the world on a rolling contract.

I agree ☝️

I rang them up on Saturday to cancel as I joined them last year (again) and lady on the phone asked why I would cancel when I was better off staying put rather than taking her 40% off offer. I had no idea what she was on about until she said they extended my first year deal on to the second year. Result. Received their letter in the post yesterday about the extended offer which they sent out before I called. I'm only paying £15.20 for tv so I'm happy with that but if you are not I would definitely keep haggling them down right until the end :)

I thought I would be cheeky and try to get the magic 75% but it appears I am getting box sets with cinema + the Sky Q box for £34.40 per month which is 60%, the Q doesn't run out until October 2017 so I may try again then. Now to haggle a broadband and line deal. Dumping BT this month.

I tried with the broadband and line but there was nothing apart from the half price broadband and £18.99 line rental :(

I have broadband and phone line off sky for £20 a month (52 mb unlimited) - I got it without much effort

Lol, i was offered 12 months free after cancelling

My Sky contract is up on 1/6 and I was paying £30 for the complete bundle.
Rang up to cancel and they offered me 50% off for the next 12 months (I'll be paying £43 instead of £86).
I would have left the cancellation go through and got a deal using my wife's details, but the only offers available atm seem to be with Sky Q,

Could I please ask do you get the full tv package for £15.20 :) my contracts nearly up so I'm just reading what deal other people have managed to get. Cheers.

Hi the first year I got the package it was £16.20 or something for tv broadband and line rental through a currys offer where u only paid for line rental and everything else was free. I just realised I didn't join them again last year, it was actually through retention sorry. They offered over 60/70% off the tv package. (I cancelled and then joined broadband and phone line again separately under hubbys name as we don't share same surname) hope this helps, just haggle right until the end and they are extending offers on alot of accounts so you may get lucky :)

thanks for your reply . I spoke to an advisor and they'd only off me £36 for the full package and taking off my multi screen so I went ahead and cancelled . Just hope they call me back to offer the same deal or better :)

I would wait right up until last day of contract. Keep calling their bluff :)

Go on mysky on the website, the sky service app or even the tv there will be an offer normally 50 to 60% already there once you cancel. Quick web chat on the come back to sky should push to between 60 and 75% depending on offers and some account credit. The days of waiting for the last minute are long gone.

Thanks for the advice, I've been on my sky to check offers but keeps telling me I can't view them online and ring a certain number . Sky retentions just called the best she could do for me was 36.60 full package but taking off my multi room . I said I'd think about it . She said she'd call me back over the weekend. Do you reckon they will offer any better?
