Sky Retentions (Half Price - Friends & Family)

It's been eleven months now since the half price 'friends & family' deal was posted on here for SKY so, like others, I'm coming to the end of the twelve months.

I'm paying £26 for the full HD service and if they were happy to carry that on then I'd be happy to pay it, but that's not going to happen! I can live without it so I'm thinking of just cancelling the lot and going back to Freeview, it's convenient to have SKY but not a necessity.

Has anybody had any joy when cancelling with retention deals? What sort of offers are they able to give at present?

Thanks for any info.

Depends when you call, they offered me nothing but others have had half price for 6 months

I think each rep has a certain amount of deals per week they can hand out but you must say you are going to cancell

The one thing I have on my side is that I am going to cancel! So the worst outcome is that I get what I want, the best is the offer a decent deal and I accept it.

it is rediculously overpriced, hope you get offered something, however if not,no big loss!

Couldn't agree more, there's no way I'd pay the normal price for it.

We seem to watch less 'actual' TV now than we did before hand when we just had Freeview. We just tend to sit there flicking through 500 channels every twenty seconds, once you get to the end it's half an hour later and it all starts again!

Sports I can watch in work or go to the pub, Movie and TV series that aren't available on Freeview I can get from other places, but as I said above at £25/month it seems a fair price to pay for the convenience of having it.

Phoned them up last week, got through to a guy, told him I wanted to leave and he said 'OK'.

Not even any questions!
