Right guys, I need help! I have just bought a new house, maxxed to the limit on the budget, only to find our area can't get normal TV reception. Which means we need Sky or something!
We have a dish already and have been using a free box, which is fine, but we can't tape anything and we haven't got a phone or internet sorted yet (which we could do with)

Been looking at Sky, Virgin packages but do Talk Talk do one?

Also, really confused with the packages? Whats the best deal I can get??

Now there's a challenge for you!!

I think it really depends on what you can get the best thing is to go on their sites:

www.virginmedia.com
www.sky.co.uk
www.bt.co.uk

If you can get virgin i would go with it as you can haggle a deal with them. And to check if you can get it there's different areas on site where you enter your post code or number to check if you can get the service.

Anyway Good Luck with your search!!

Go sky.... £50 Cashback from quidco and £10 from Sky.

Choose basic TV for £15, Get broadband free and pay £11 to BT for line rental.

Oh and you get free evening and weekend calls, free wireless router and free installation.

If i was you i would take the dish down etc... so they fit you a new one.

Go Virgin 2 for £20

or just 2 mb BB for £18 and ring before end of 28 days and threaten to cancel and then accept it for £10 for 12 months

Depending on how much it will cost to get a phoneline installed,i think it may be cheaper to go the Virgin route.

You can get the 3 for £30 deal which includes 2mb BB,XL tv package(everything but movies and sports, basically) and phone line M(free weekend calls).Installation is £25.
Link for that offer is here click

You may get charged £125 by BT to get a phoneline installed if you are a new customer,so this will make the Sky route expensive initially.

If you want recording facilities with digital tv you could get the V+ box installed for an extra £10 per month(total would then be £40pm).

There is also a £10 discount for ordering online which will be deducted from your first bill.

IF there has already been a BT phone at the house then it is free to reconnect the line.

Wow thanks guys! Really helpful. I will have a little go, see how I get on...£40 a month one sounds good (cos we can't tape at the moment) but its just so darned expensive!

Okay...it's saying this on Virgin:

You can get Virgin Media services wherever you live! Your home is in a non-cable area, so that means you can choose any of our great non-cable services and we'll deliver them down your BT phoneline.

Does this mean I also need to pay for a BT line then??

Indeed it does.

Best option would now probably be Sky, imo. Their £26 surf/see/speak package is pretty good value for money - 8meg broadband, free evening and weekend calls, and all the sky channels excluding movies and sports for the above fee. As gary said you will get free installation, a free router (which is excellent) and free virus protection and the like. Plus you have the various quidco and other incentives.

Only downside is the extra £11 bt line rental on top! (Which, Sky informed me when I moved, they are looking into at present - they're hoping to be able to offer their own form of 'discounted line rental' in the not too distant future)

Can anyone get the following in their basket??

2mb bb M
Phone- M
2 for £20
and Tv M (free)

Total £20 a month

No reason why shouldn't be Im struggling lol

£40 setup with Sky BB though isnt it?

There are alot of BB providers out there offering £14.99pm deals with no setup fee or leaving fee and dont tie you into a year long subscription...Virgin ADSL for example

For TV though Sky is £15pm and your cheapest option if your not in a cabled area

As with all ADSL providers...its upto ##Mb depending on distance from your Exchange and especially with Sky, there maybe limited availability anyhoo
