Hi

My wifi is not working with my black sky hub. It wont connect via phones or tablets but works fine over ethernet. I have tried turning off and resetting etc but still no joy.

Has anyone experienced this before? or have any ideas on how I can fix it?

Thanks

Adam

Happend recently to my Virgin media ... internet working fine via cable but no Wifi ... I just turned my router off ,,, and unplugged the power cable both from back of the router and the plug socket ... leave for 10 minutes and restart your computer ... then connect again ... this worked for me and now I have wifi :)

If this doesn't work then call Sky Technical Helpline ...

Oh and make sure your wifi antenna (if sky routers have them) you know those things that stick out ... if your router has them then just make sure all the connections are secure.

If you can log into the router and check the Wifi password you are using is correct and that wireless has not been switched off

I assume your using Windows here, but if you click on the wireless connection symbol in the status bar does it give you the option of selecting your networks SSID? If so your router is broadcasting a signal.

If you hid your SSID, then a free program called inSSIDer will display any wireless signals within range whether you have opted to hide the SSID or not.

call sky broadband and they will be able to check your connection and guide you in the required tests.

When this happened to me on Virgin I had to go into the router settings and change the channel to a different one. They said someone must be using the same channel as me and interfering with my service.

Disable the password requirement and see if the wifi then works, if not the unit is no longer broadcasting and will need replacing

I had the same problem with the New Black Sky Router, they sent a replacement that did the same after a few days - Just went back to the old router in the end.

Could be an issue with your wifi channel. Do you live in an apartment or in an area with a lot of other wifi networks around? If so, you could try choosing a wifi channel (in your routers settings) which is less congested than the rest.
