Skype Video Calling on Moto E - No Front Facing Camera

Just bought a Moto E as a gift so can use skype. The thing is I thought since it's the predecessor to the Moto G it would have a front facing camera ... just checked and it doesn't ... DOH!

I've googled and know you can still use the rear camera with a mirror to get the 'video calling effect' ... was wondering if there was anyway to get an external add on camera for android phones to use? You know like on the PC you have a webcam ... is there anything like this for android phones and compatible with the Moto G?

Why?

Just buy a moto g (or something else) instead. It'll cost you the same as the monstrosity you're trying to create and it'll be much less hassle.

Yeah I got this for £69.99 and the Moto G even the £8GB has gone up in price to £120 ... almost double

An 8GB Moto G v2 (with 4G capability and an SD card slot) will cost you £120 if you're using the odd first time buyer code and wotnot. The original Moto G is less, but I don't think Tesco are stocking them any longer, and most of the deals on here were for Tesco using a code. Look at CPW or somewhere else instead for the v1 if you want to save some money and don't need the SD card or 4G bands.

And the Moto E was released after the Moto G, so it isn't its predecessor. It's just the (even more) budget phone.

Otherwise, use Skype and don't see the other person, or buy a webcam and try and make it work using an OTG cable and some sort of app (assuming it won't be picked up and recognised natively by the Skype app).

Much less hassle and bits to carry around trying to make work them together to look around for a Moto G that's £10 or £20 more than what you paid for the Moto E.

I didn't have a front camera only a back camera when I wanted ta Skype someone I jus simply faced it against my mirror and the other person could see me fine or you could hold a mirrorin your lap n jus hold your phone in front of the mirror then you can video call jus make sure there's good enough light :)
