Hi all

I'm not an avid photographer but after going on a uni field trip to portugal and seeing the heavy duty SLR camera one of my lecturers took and then getting to see some of the beautiful insect shots he'd managed to take it made me jelaous and when I get jealous I want to spend money

I don't really think I'll be likely to print many pictures out and if I do it'll be normal photo sized and maybe once or twice a year a4 sized (not likely)

So really I'm looking for

4-6mp, 6-10x optical zoom, digital zoom isn't important, LCD screen 1.5"+, I prefer lithium batteries but I suppose if it keeps it cheap it wouldn't matter

Umm that's about it for preferences I think, anyone know of any decent cameras?

It might be useful to know your spending limit if there is one :) Which I'm sure there is...
#2
Hmm... I'm not that up on the prices just now but I suppose around £300 mark

Extra lenses and stuff aren't that important either, ideally it's just right out the box and go, no need for lenses etc

How about this: Olympus 6mp 10x Optical Looks decent and gets great reviews. I haven't checked out if it's the best price as yet though...

Some PCWorld collect at store but you'll need to try your postcode here or town you can get too.

Oh and it's less than £200

Thanks for that I'll look for reviews and let you know how I get on

Looks very good technically. The price is £275 from Amazon's own link [just in case you were looking at the MarkePlace seller link].

Might be worth searching for a few reviews though.
