They had some reduced in my local Halfords yesterday, not sure if it's national. Think they were about 7 quid. Otherwise, I got one from Tescos for about 8 quid a few months ago.

Good question, I'm not sure but possibly it did have the sticky out bits! There is a link here with an extra 10% off if you order today from Halfords if you can find anything useful:

Dont concern yourself .Let the eldest sit in the seat normally. They might not be big enough but if you cant get 3 seats in the car you cant get 3 seats in.I have 4 kids (Zafira GRRRRRRRRR!) and i use a car seat for baby booster for 4 year old and the other 2 sit in the seats normally. They have to grow up one day 8 and 9

would i not get points and fine ect hubby thinks the eldest is about 120cm and the law says 125cm, ?? not sure if this is right
when hubbys at work and im on own i can put 1 in front its just when we all out together we have a vectra so the back seat isnt tiny but like u say if u cant fit in 3 u cant fit in 3, you dont think of these things when you want a baby do you heehee

Check this with your local police station but our local police said you dont have to have a car seat in the middle back of the car if you have 2 other car seats in and there is no room for a third!

why you say that ? what makes you think no one cares ?

We've got exactly the same problem. How old are your kids?

Its just seems that several people are trying to get out of using carseat when the only reasons that the law was changed is because evidence shows our children have more chance of surviving car crashes when they are using the correctly fitted car/booster seats.

Why would an older childs safety be less important than a young baby?

When you go out as a family could one of the adults not sit in the middle at the back if three seats will not fit?

You do sound very sensible about your childrens safety. I wish everyone was, im prob venting on here because of a lady who lives at the end of my road who regulary drives her 6 years old son to school without him even wearing a seatbelt let alone having a carseat for him. He is in my daughters class and i just dont know what to do about it as if anything happened to him i would feel awful for not having done anything. If you know what i mean.

Here's your confirmation that you don't need a 3rd seat by law....but it's whether your willing to take the risk :

This one is 36cm wide which is less than most http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Car-Seats-and-Boosters/Booster-Seats/Graco-HiLife-Booster-Seat-in-Blueberry(0033848)

I have a Graco Junior highback booster, Mothercare basic booster and a Britax Freeway baby seat in the back of my Rover 25 which I'm pretty sure is narrower than a Vectra. What I found when looking is that you can get 3 across the back even if the widths add up to more than the total width available because the design of the 3 different seats means that the arms of the Mothercare booster overlap (underneath) the seats either side. It's a bit fiddly to get the two seat belts fastened on the boosters each time but it all works.
It's worth experimenting with different seats and their positions in relation to each other.
