Smartphone Deals

Hi Guys,

As posted last week I broke my mobile phone and was looking to buy a cheap handset that runs on the S60/Symbian platform for my Sat Nav.

The prices of handsets only is ridiculous so much so that it'll be financially sensible to 'write off' the last 3 months of my existing contract and get a free phone with a new provider.

Can anyone recommend any deals on smartphones or any sites that provide up to date information on the best deals?

check out they cover pretty much all the mobiles available, but be careful of the 12 month free deals as the sellers can make it very hard to get cashback!!

check out duck2magic's info on this site, its really helpful.
Thanks for the info - that looks really useful.
phoneboxdirect has nokia n72 12 month free 12 month contract

That looks like a great deal.

Do you know if the handset is locked. The offer is against Vodafone but I'm on O2 and am tempted to stay with O2 as the coverage is great where I am and I have an excellent deal (500 cross network any time minutes for £20 per month).

Hi Guys,

Thought you may be interested in what I was able to negotiate when getting the new phone.

I didn't fancy the 'cash back' option as can't be sure I'll remember to fill in the paperwork and have heard of instances where the monies are not refunded.

I found the best deal with Orange where they offered an N73 and £100 cash back if giving them an old working phone.

I eventually went with Phones4U who gave me a newer N73 Music edition (with a 2Gb Sansdisk card) on Orange and matched the cashback but without the need to bring in a phone.

If you find a decent 'high street' deal it may be worth trying Phones4U to see if they can match it (with some additional benefits).

NB I'm on £35 a month with 700 Any Time X Network Mobile calls, 100 texts, unlimited land line calls and free calls to one other Orange number.
