Hi, few places I have been to is Crab Manor (Thirsk) and Ruding Park (Harrogate) that stand out for amazing places.

Crab Manor Website
They have themed rooms based on luxury locations around the world. They also have 9 private luxury rooms with their own private hot tub. The restaurant is French with a Seafood menu (also do meat and veg options) but the place is out of this world and is something different. There isn't a spa i'm afraid but some lovely ground and with your own hot tub, why would you want to leave lol!!

Rudding Park Website
Voted 2nd best hotel in UK and 1st best outside of London. We visited here last year and what a wonderful place, stunning grounds and only 10 minutes from Harrogate town centre. They have a spa and a small gym. The rooms are well presented and have 3 options, Ribston, Follifoot and Spa Room. We paid extra for a spa room and had a steam Hamman shower with a roll top bath and TV in the bathroom. A Superking bed was best bed ever!!

I'm not sure on your location or if you have been here before but i would highly recommend these! Also seen you have asked about Crazy Bear and we haven't been yet but they had a deal on recently for a nights stay and 7 course taster menu on Groupon or Wowcher (one of those type of sites)

Hope this helps and let me know what you choose

the crab looks absolultely perfect. I am prepared to travel but North Yorkshire is a tad too far for me as i am in South Devon. Gutted as that would have been perfect. I will have a look at the other one next but somewhat gutted that i am too down south!

Many thanks though..

In the South West, the most amazing place is Bovey Castle. Definitely the wow factor if you don't mind the traveling!

Try the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel in Bath, lots of things to see and do and you can walk everywhere. Roman Baths have a modern rooftop spa that looks amazing.
#15
Carbis Bay St Ives, has a spa and dramatic scenery and popular with the 'mature' crowd :)
#16
STOCKTON ON TEES. My home town has the wow factor in a kind of Chernobyl meets Mordor kind of way. You will some amazing sights including Jeremy Kyle contestants (yeah contestants, it's like winning by going on).

Totally depends on what sort of thing you like.
There are loads of hotels with spas, but wow factor (beach, mountains, lakes, city, history, etc) and things to do can vary massively person to person (fishing, golf, walking/hiking, rock climbing, shopping, museums, etc).

tbh a good hotel and spa weekend for two in the UK will cost about as much, if not more, as week long holiday all inclusive in most places this time of the year. Most will have a spa in the grounds or near by and money will go farther.
Something to consider if you can get the time off work.

Is your target any kind of driver? The missus sorted me out a long weekend hire of a Morgan and three nights in a (very posh) B&B.
Spent a very pleasant couple of days blasying around the Malvern hills and some Welsh valleys.
Made some little lad's day, too. We'd come out of a visitor centre in the Elan Valley and he was dribbling over the car, taking photos for all he was worth. Should have seen his face when I got the nod from his Ma&Pa and asked him if he'd like to sit in.
