Sony DVD Recorder with HDMI - any good

I have seenon price comparison websites the Sony 350 DVD Recorder with HDMI for around £95. Records to + and - and can play DVD Ram.

Was looking for an affordable HDMI machine and as players are between £35and £50,didn't think this was a lot for a recorder.

There are Samsung and Liteon rivals, but does anyone know of this. It's a bargain price but is it all that.

News appreciated, then I can decide on whether to shop for it. Thanks

I have a different Sony dvd/hd recorder, however my dad has a JVC dvd/hd recorder, the difference of ease of use the Sony offers is outstanding. The Sony menu system gives a near Sky+ style of recording (other than it cannot pick from a channel list like sky+. However I would highly recommend the Sony for its ease of use.

Be careful with Sony DVD players and recorders if you need them to be multi-region some of them are difficult to hack.

If the Sony is the RDR-GX350 model you need a[FONT=Verdana] PocketPC or Palm and some software

To check to see if it can be hacked if it's a different model go to Videohelp and check

That's interesting as I thought you could hack it with a One For All ... remote.
I read that ths makes the HX710 model multi region.

Need multi region, but I need to play discs with great picture and no skipping.
May also check the dvdreviewer website for hacks too.
Cheers

You could ring up Richer Sounds and ask them if they could hack it for you.

They used to hack them for a tenner (I don't know if they still do this as it's ages since I took one there as I won't buy a player or recorder now unless I can Hack it).

If they provide this service then obviously you'd have to take it to their shop.
