Sony Ericsson S500i on o2 Contract?

Hi all, I am looking for the new sony ericsson S500i on contract with o2. I have looked everywhere i can think of and the only places i can see that have the phone are Phones4u on vodafone with cashback (which we don't want for the hassle that comes with) and at carphonewarehouse with o2 for £25 a month but only on 18 month contract.

If anyone knows of any places with 12months contracts of this phone on the o2 network please post it here. I am phoning o2 retentions tomorrow as it is closed now, and upgrading my mothers phone on her behalf. Her current 18 month contract should have ended at the start of june but they haven't stopped it and she didn't know to herself so it has just carried on grrr :x lol If I had known this it would have been sorted at the time, but only realised this when checking her rather high bill on the o2 website last night.

So if anyone can help with this we would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

That contract would cost me a fortune as there aren't enough mins/texts and i would go over every month.

With me not being a customer yet do you think they would do a better offer if i was to call them up?

Also, i have heard from a friend who is currently ina contract from e2save that they have gone into voluntery liquidation? I don't know if that is true or not but others online on other forums are claiming that quidco cashback is not tracking and cashback throughout the contracts is not being paid so am not sure i want to go to a company with such bad reviews!

Thanks for your reply :)

I don't mind cashback that is paid with quidco when starting the contract but i do not want a cashback contract such as the ones posted above, there is to much risk of things going wrong and just too much hassle.

Just a normal 12 month contract please :):p :-D

Thanks for your reply :)

if you gave us a clue how much you use minutes wide, if it has to be x network, off peak? how many texts?

does it HAVE to be o2?

there are several different deals out there but you need to give us a little bit more info.

I want to stick with o2 as i am already with them and have found their service to be better than most other providers.

I am currently on 75 minutes and 200 texts paying £18.99 a month.

I usually go over on the minutes and the texts so the ideal tariff would be around 100 mins and atleast 300 texts, minutes must be anytime any network just as it is now.

Thanks for your help  :)

If your already with 02 ring them up and ask if they can sort you out since your an existing customer. My friend did it with 02, came back with 500mins, 500texts for £24.99/month with a brand new Nokia phone. (Don't remember model, sorry)

I have been on the phone twice and spoken to two different people and both have said this phone isn't available through them until atleast the end of august, but my contract is due to end at the end of july :-(

They have said they can put me on a sim only contract when this one runs out for 30 days, or until the s500i is available which i am considering but would rather have the new phone as soon as i can :p

Thanks

Sorry for being so picky about this but i don't want to leave o2 and i don't want a cashback contract, although i appreciate your help very much : )

no probs

in the 2nd link there are some o2 contracts, you will be lucky to get one any cheaper than £25 per month with a new model phone, on a 12 month contract.
there is one for £30 per month and you can claim back some money ( you dont have to, it will cost £30 per month if you do or dont).

with o2 i found it cheaper and better to change mobile number cancel contract and get a complete new deal as they never had the newer phones in stock.

as regarding my post, if you go on to the links i sujjested maybe this would mkaer more sense, but i am under this impresion
the contract i sujjested for exapmple is £?? a month and the cash back is your free gift, which would make it cheaper, ifyou lyk the contract for what ever i said a month but dont want cashback , dont tak the cash back, i think you woulkdnt get anycheaper than what i said...

thats actuly what i am tryin to say, maybe the 200 txt and 200 min 12 month contract for £30 and free phone would be good for you, the quidco cash back is worth a try, and the other cashback i mentioned is "a free gift" you dont have to tak it, its 30 a month regardles!
