Hi All,
My daughter is very much into stop motion and she's fantastic at it. At the moment she's using her Moshi Monster figures etc, but as she's almost 12 now I'd like to get her something a little more grown up. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could get her? I've looked at kits online but not sure what's the best value?
I'm going to get her some modelling clay etc as she's good at that too, but I welcome as many ideas you can share?
Thank you so much in reading this post.

Can easily use Lego as well, there's lots of different types so bound to be something she's interested in, plus she can always build and rearrange to suit hers needs and let's her be creative

The great thing about stop motion is that you can use absolutely anything. Obviously materials you can make things with work well such as lego, clay, playdoh etc. but any toy can be used.

What about some books or camera stands etc?

This might not be what you are looking for, but it might be a small starter or companion to something else you get.

Saw it in store the other day, only a small set , but looks pretty good.

Thank you so much. I went to art college and did a diploma in Illustration for three years and now I work in the NHS! My creativity died during my training I think haha. Thanks again.

Are you just looking for ideas on objects to photograph or camera/flash/equipment ideas?

Obviously a new camera, tripod, remote etc if you are looking for equipment. For creating things for stop motion don't forget about paints, pens, colours and things. Drawing a picture or painting in stop motion can get some great videos.

Toy figures are always great. Lego, action man etc.

What about a microphone, something like the Blue Snowball?

If you have camera etc, you don't need kit you just need software. This site work a look http://www.stopmotioncentral.com/ has lots of nice articles and links to trials of software get her to see which one she likes.

Got my kid animation kit year he loved it, downside he need laptop all the time for it as used webcam, wish i'd looked at software side bit more as personal taste all quite similar.
