Hi all. I quit smoking two weeks and three days ago. I am now a little worried that my body may have stopped producing something, (I don't know what), but here is the problem.

I had three small spots on my stomach, slight athletes foot, and pierced nipples.

since I have quit smoking, the three small spots on my stomach won't heal, my athletes foot has gone into overtime and my toes are ******, and I can't wear my nipple rings anymore (I have worn them for around twenty years).

what am I missing from my diet and would I be best just smoking again?

PS. I am vaping to quit..........

Yeh start smoking again. Minimum 20 a day for at least 2 weeks. You will be as right as rain.

Good on you for quitting smoking.

You sound like a man's man - you don't like bothering the doctor unless you're really dying but in this instance, if I was in your shoes, I'd make that call tomorrow and get the earliest appointment to discuss all your needs and don't be put off by the "time limit" carp for each appointment. You are trying to quit and save the NHS money by being a healthier person << that should be important to everyone and respected.

I didn't suffer any differently when I quit the first time but I also didn't see any health benefits - only my wallet expanded but everyone is different and that's why you need to get checked out "properly".

I started smoking again after 5 years of abstinence caused by stress + other carp in my life. I tried vaping last year and it was successful until I had a chest infection in January 2016 and now each time I try the vaping kit I end up coughing and choking and nobody can explain why... wtf - I'd like to try other vaping kits / oils but the outlay, at this time, is not possible.

Hope you get sorted/fixed and remain off the real cigs

What chemicals are in the vape....maybe they are interacting with your body in a different way than cigarettes did... I would try a multivitamin and some vitamin E cream/gel on the areas in question. Don't stop your progress - power through!

I quit a couple of years ago and I got all sorts of weird stuff happening to me. I was a pretty heavy smoker, exclusively roll ups. I got skin rashes, lots of muscle problems and other various ailments. This lasted for about 6 months or so.

Your body will most likely adjust, but I'd see your GP anyway, just to be safe.

Congrats, by the way.

Stop whinging! you have done the hard bit, now do the easy bit and stop with the vapouring stuff, the spots feet and ho;es are nut##othing to do with the lack of poison, stop looking for a reason to start again and look at the monay you are saving and in a couple of years you will have reduced the damage caused by the poison that you were paying to put in your body
OR just start again an let the tax payer foot your medical bills!

As a long time smoker until 20 months ago , I think you are just looking for an excuse to start again ! If you do have any "rejection symptoms" which I doubt -your healthier body will be better able to cope with them . If in doubt consult a GP . And congrats on giving up a life threatening habit , keep it up and stop looking for excuses to start again !

Thanks for the responses. I am not looking for a reason to start smoking again, I was honestly believing that I had something wrong due to quitting. I am never smoking again, I quit with a couple of other dudes whom started smoking again straight after....... I am just gonna see the doc. I probably need some amocycillin etc

It could be what you are vaping. Take a look at the differences between Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin (pg and vg), I believe that some people can react to them?

I quit a heavy habit easily with vaping and have no even quit that. Now to quit pies... :/

If you're vaping with nicotine then you haven't really quit.

cigarettes contain lots of chemicals obviously - one of which is antiseptic.
You'll feel much worse for a while before seeing any benefits but stick with it

Seriously? How would smoking again make things better? You had the spots and athletes foot before you gave up smoking; the fact they have worsened could be due to many things, including stress, changes in diet or plain coincidence.
When giving up smoking it is a good idea to speak to your doctor anyway; they can offer advice and point you in the direction of support. Whilst at the doctors you can also seek advice and treatment for your spots, and athletes foot too.
Giving up smoking is a real pain in the behind... I know, as I've been on and off that wagon for years... But smoking is never the better option..... See your GP and get treatment for your ailments and stay strong.

Update. I have not been to see the doc because I only go for emergencies, my spots got better, nipples are healing well, athletes foot also disappearing (it comes and goes normally anyway, but got real bad this time).
Now I have a new complaint about quitting smoking!!!
My sense of smell has accelerated! when I finish work now I can smell my own bloody self and I [email protected] stink! I have to run and jump in the bath and wash two or three times to get rid of the smell!! Why wasn't I warned? why has all my family members never told me etc?!
anyway, it's going really well with the vaping, I decided due to an earlier comment that I should look into changing the pg/vg amount and I have, I changed it to 50/50 and a 12mg of nicotine. I am going to lower the nicotine as fast as possible, and quit vaping as soon as possible too.
I would recommend to anyone to use vaping as a means to quit smoking because it is bloody easy!
I have smoked 26 years with no hope of quitting until I seriously learnt how to vape and went into it guns blazing.
Thanks for all the comments!

Its true your sense of smell really does improve, and it certainly sounds like things are going better for you now, despite being a bit stinky....lol X),......... although im sure replacing the former inevitable smell of ciggies and 'masked odour', with a nice deodorant will be better for all concerned :)
It sounds like you want to be off vaping as soon as possible; but quitting nicotine for most people is a gradual process and the time required will vary.
I certainly hope your vaping path works for you (I have certainly heard that vaping has worked for a lot of people).... Good Luck :)
