When you download some movies from Itunes they are m4v format. But I think they only work on Itunes. I tried to play the file using the Windows Media Player that comes with Windows 7 (which does plays m4v files) but it did not work.

My Transformers Movie does not work with any program apart from Itunes. I think is might be because there is additional information on the file like chapters, etc.

Not sure if the lost episodes have the same issue but I would imagine that they are the same.

Th reason for this is the file format that Itunes place the films in. You can easily download a converter and convert the film into and AVI file or MP4 file both these will play on the PS3. if you wish to take the files straight from your disks download DVD decrypter, or DVD Fab these will take the files and put them in a format which is playable on your laptop or desktop, you can then shrink the file using DVD shrink or convert using WINAVI.

Above are just some examples but if you folow this your can't go far wrong.

 E-mail me if you get stuck,
