Summer Holiday - Holiday

I'm desperately trying to find a holiday to take my gf and 2 children away on in the summer holidays. Everything however is so expensive. It doesn't have to be that exotic or even out of England but everywhere I look is charging loads for very basic holidays. Very cheeky but can anyone offer any advice on what companies I should be looking at?

If staying in the UK maybe look at a city break as opposed to a seaside location or holiday park. We used to take our kids on city breaks around the UK in the summer hols and abroad out of the holidays due to costs. Often large hotel chains have offers on during the summer holidays as that is their quietest period and have some amazing offers.

One in particular I remember, we had a great mon - fri break a few years ago to Birmingham (yes Birmingham) visited Cadbury world (free tickets with hotel stay) West Midlands safari park, Drayton Manor theme park, Sea Life centre and Warwick Castle during the days (all had discounts from hotel) we stayed bed breakfast and evening meal for 4 nights for 4 of us for under £200. Had a few other great city breaks to so worth checking some out and the attractions around the area for you to visit. Surprising how much the kids enjoyed it over going abroad and sitting by the pool or on the beach all day.

Thanks very much, the city breaks could well be a good idea, as the kids love doing stuff as opposed to sitting by the pool.

Just spent four nights/ five days in Bournemouth. It was fantastic. Beach is wonderful and we travelled about too- Lulworth Cove, Dorchester, Poole, Tolpuddle and Weymouth. People were very friendly. Stayed in a b and b. There were loads starting at £19 pp but probably family rooms available too.
Norfolk is wonderful too!
