suspenders for a pregnant lady, no stockings!

Got your attention, (my fiancee did!), with that title? I am looking for suspenders, (they dont need to be sexy, we did that bit, but i dont mind ;-) ). My fiancee is 17 weeks gone, getting heavy, and having to wear surgical stockings, luckily they come in black nowadays, so no Nora Batty thoughts! Finaly, the point, i have looked all over for suspenders, (including Ann Summers!), but all seem to be for the 'before' and not the 'result' stage, any help anyone? Thanks.

Thanks, that was my first port of call, (7% Quidco too on lady stuff at the mo), but they were the 'wrong shape' she said, too tight on the bump, (i thought they looked ok, but alas!

Mothercare only seem to sell 'sussies' for the 'befores', strangely. Blooming have none at all!?!

Fleabay seem to cater for the pre 'early days' also

awwwww your having a baby!!:)
you do know immediatley after labour you will be wearing those stockings around your neck!!!x

Can she not wear tights with support? Just that I was told to wear surgical stockings when I was pregnant but they said that tights with a high level of support were ok also. I found the tights great as they seemed to support my growing bump also.

That was my thought Susannah, but she says they 'dont feel right' , i would say just like you, support, comfort etc. (must be the hormones saying no):whistling:

I dont understant the problem with tights TBH, i think they are underated, i used to wear them all the time in winter, they are great for keeping the lower regions warm when you work outdoors, and they gave great support to my beerbelly, (looks about the same as the fiancees belly at the mo').Made the nurses day when she had to put a pot on me!

When I wore the stockings, when I was pregnant, they were hold ups. Can she not get those? I got mine free on prescription. I didn't have any problems but wanted to avoid varicous veins.

Thats what she wears, and they keep falling down, hence the 'sussie' post. She is wanting somethjing to enable her to go about the normal day to day of walking the kids to school/preschool, and not feel so wrecked,(my reason is that i dont like being a pedastal for tired legs, when mine are wrecked!)

hormones - bane of my life! when i had this problem and hated anything tight on my bump i got the ol' support maternity tights in a mega massive size and pulled em right up over the bump....that felt much better as it gave my bump support too - have fun with those hormones!!!!!!

you could try looking at the fantastic www.stockingshq.com

The suspender belts there are not cheap but they are the best and with surgical stockings she will need all the support she can get (metal clips).........they do 6 strap , 8 strap right up to 14 strap! Its also worth emailing the guy who owns it (David) who is incredibly helpful. Service at this place is 2nd to none!

Good luck with the new arrival
